This is an older design that I sculpted. I posted it a few months ago when I was sculpting her. She's pretty much a three legged side show attraction.
I have more concept art on my website:

That is a pretty cool sculpt...
and definantley has a sideshow feel...
HOWEVER... I would like to see some shots of the other sides... to feel all the dimensions, and get a overall feel of the character...
But it is goood though...

I really like your sculptures. They have nice detail. Have you ever worked in the toy industry?

Scotch- Nope I just started creating sculptures 3 months ago. I just found that I had a knack for it. I'm trying to improve, and maybe one day I can impress a studio and they will hire me. Never know...It's my goal.:) It's cool though that people are assuming I went to school for this, and that I'm a working professional. Very encouraging. However, I've never had any formal art training. I just create what I see in life and in my imagination.
I'm glad you like my work. Your "Juggsy" got me interested in trying this stuff out 3 months ago, and I've been working hard at it ever since.;) Thank you.:chug:
Anyways, back to YOUR TOPIC. What did you use to seal your "Juggsy"? I like the base you made too.:)

After I wet sanded the surface, I coated her with a thick layer of dark purple acrylic, then sanded the acrylic down, then painted several thin layers of lighter purple for a smooth finish. The reason for this is because I wanted a "layered" blotchy skin effect. If you look closely at the surface, you can see dark purple scars under the thin layered finish. It adds depth. This technique was picked up in one of my editorial illustration classes at Art Center.(Rob Clayton's class). I just applied it to sculpting. I'm inspired by your work ethic, "hunger". To me, that hunger is what drives people to become great. I'm truly impressed. In 3 months, you surpassed my sculpting abilities! Wow.

LOL...ok, here's hoping. I get discouraged (believe it or not) at times. I feel like I should be creating something new almost everyday, but...I keep hitting walls. I wonder sometimes if I'm kidding myself, or if I actually can do this. I dunno......I'm giving it my best, and that's what counts I suppose. I will keep TOYS in mind, and start making sculps that might work in that field. Thanks, and if you have any other advice..(Like how to go about getting a job in that field)..PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO TELL ME!!!:chug:
Thanks again!!:)

It's the hard part that creative people face always. You could be on a roll for a few months, then just not have any ideas you like after that for a few months or maybe more... best thing to do at that time is to go back and focus on your basics, and teach yuorself technical things you don't know, or experiment with some things you've been afraid to mess with before, different approaches, then most of the time, you'll find that you'll get past that wall...

SebSprek- Thanks man for the advice. I will definately keep that in mind. I have goals, but it's hard tell if they are close or far away. I will keep at it.....just gotta stay focused.;) It's nice to know that others have the same problems at times.:chug:
