I've been working on some zombies :dead: ... just thought of working on some subject [zombies] that usually is looked as just dead humans and try giving it my twist...

these were zombies concepts based on the idealogy that zombies never die but adapt to their surroundings by absorbing plant matter and mutating it with their genetics... here are just a few of the renderings...

initial rendering.... 2hrs total

rendering adjustment by SamBrown36 to look more human like...

zombie morphed by carnivorious vegetation... 3.5hrs total

eeww! but seems to be what you were going for. good job on the super shiny look. they look pretty good except for the drop of blood or whatever on the right side of the chin (top two pictures). it doesn't look like it's on the zombie, it kinda seems to be floating around the zombie.

I do love a nice zombie and i thinks these are pretty cool - the last one needs a slight more attention on anatomy to really work for me. The two first closeup is well done indeed. A little more shading under the eyes would maybe make them seems less flat? However, one thing i have learned is that when you see a piece and the first thing you do is naming the filter used it just dosnt work. Drop the wrap, use an hour or two and paint the stuff on - you can do it :rendered: Other than that, good job dude.

I like the sketches more than the colored versions. Try a different coloring style, don't touch those filters. Color palette of the 2nd pic is good.

I was gonna say, lay off the plastic wrap filter. That is exactly what went through my mind, too!
Even your "after" correction screams Photoshop Plastic Wrap Filter...Although it has it's uses, character enhancement ain't one of them. Look at how goofy the highlights in the shaded parts of the anatomy look with that crap on top!

You have a great imagination and pretty good anatomy to create these creatures. Don't shortchange yourself by using filters.

I hope you don't mind me editing this but I had to give it a try. It's an amazing drawing, coloring & detailing you've got there but like the others said: please don't over-use the wrap filter. I tried reducing the wrap to a minimum in my edit but I also did some color changing and imho it really shows your skill much better. Let me know what ya think. ps digging those sketches as well.

I would normaly say too much filter there but it works good. Gives the zombies an almost insect exo-skeleton quality about them. Very cool.

Possessed- I appreciate the rendering... it definitely looks a lot more zombie like... the matte finish does give it a more poster like feel too it... thanks..

General Grevious - yes... i was tryin' to give these zombies the slimey and vegetation look... i do agree that sometimes the too much plastic wrap may look fake... but to it was to achieve a more three demension with layering the skin... thanks for the comment
