Awesome stuff Andrew. All of these drawings are awesome...but it's amazing how much better you are now than you were then. There is definite growth.

i had no clue you were going for a computer animation degree... [at least as far as 11/9/99] since that's what i'll be getting in a year, under the title of bachelor's degree, looking at where you are and where i want to be, it's encouraging. [ha, try unwinding that sentence!]
thanks for sharing!

omg haha how weird
Last year while I was in Highschool looking at different college catalogues for art schools I had the ringling one. And in it was this picture...
http://www.androidjones.com/crayonpage.html
And I remember arguing with the only other artist in my grade about that piece hehe. I was arguing for the picture while he was against it. Subjectivity the part of art that sparks debate :)
Heh this just keeps reaffirming the thing that most of my art teachers tell me, that the art community is small, and things like this keep showing me it is smaller and smaller than I realize.

jaku- keep the flame burning my friend
R_M - I wish I could post more of my finished work but everything I have time to do now is under NDA contracts, and super secret ninteno artwork that dosent get released until after the games are finished, I hope to start making more finished work in my free time when I get some
mindcandy- those images were a major point of growth when i made them, I keep striving for more growth in the future
wolvie- thank you
tedsou- yea I forgot about those picture, well the secrets out, fortunately those pics are so old. the years since have carried a heavy tool on my face, I do like looking back at the pictures tohse were very happy times for me
i.was.ink I used to come home every night covered with red chalk, it became a running joke in the house i lived in.
cotron, I get asked alot what kind of portfolio it takes to get an internship at ILM, i posted this website to give people an example of what worked for me at the time.
taft - its great to share older stuff without getting too embarased about it.
nova- yea I majored and graduated with a batchlors in computer animation, I chose that major to get a better understanding of what type of drawings worked better in 3d. it was kind of a risk to start off with but it paid off in the long run.
stikler999- we could all use more focus and dicipline there never seem to be onough,
Avetice- ha ha , its a small world. whats to agrue about crayon boy?, hes a boy made out of crayons, the mental manifestation of of supressed creativity. I hope you won the argument.
brokencow- oh well the secrets out, did you expect new work from an old website? the new work is for this website. thats funny your so close to my old mailbox, oh the memories come flooding back.
thanks to everyone for your positive response, I was a little weary about posting work that is over 3 years old but your response shows me that I made the right decision.
thanks agian everyone.

Finally...get to see more of your work!
I am like the others: in awe.
Quick questions for you, one related to your work the other to this site:
1. Portraiture
Is your work usually done on canson paper?
On average, what does a full render take you to complete?
On average, what do you charge for your work?
2. Site
I'm a medical illustrator that would love to have a site like this for the Association of Medical Illustrators, but did not know how to go about doing this.
Our site is: http://ami.org
So...how did you go about doing this? Right now, we have an email listserv that is good and bad. It's good because we are networking. Bad because we can drown in silly email threads we don't wish to be a part of AND there is no really good archive of files like those found here.
Again - thank you for sharing your work and thank you for your time reviewing my questions.
Cheers!
Dave
