Hello,
I have been lurking these message boards for a while now, finally decided i will start and post some drawign s, once i get my scanner.... anyway i am 14 yrs. old and go to atechnical school and take commercial arts. I draw and do artwork all day...yes..... anyways i used to draw cartoony horror, I LIKE TO DRAW PPLS FEARS AND DEPRESSING ART WORK, my techers send me to guidance office, becuase i draw everyone dying horrible deaths and being sad and emotional. so I decided that cartoony is getting old and want to draw real ppl like i was looking at hurricanes drawings and he draws some dark stuff and i want to do that. somewhat cartoony yet being able to convince you it looks real. I am going to get some books today anatomy, and such.
can anyone help me decide where to start? i am pretty insane somewhat, and i am skilled at drawing gore. Id like to do that to real ppl

thanks in advance. :)

Also look up the painters Caravaggio and Artemisia Gentileschi. Some of their work were considered very graphic at the time. Painters like Odd Nerdrum took it some steps higher, I have feeling you could take it up a notch haha...*sigh* what is the world coming to?

so far i just draw then ink o ver with as fountain pen or a micron and crossstich shade, sometimes i use greay tone markers.

Well i think you spend a lot of time at this thread http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=504098#post504098
I would never use aquarel/watercolor to paint people, just landscapes because you have to work quickly and it's quite difficult to fix mistakes & watermarks.
Cheap ways to make a drawing-> pen, ink, pencils, acrylics, soft pastels, charcoal

i was thinking about pastels.....mmmm

this is out of the blue but this summer i have to draw a life size portrait of a real person, and i am going to have to do somthing special with it, my friend is gunna do just scratch board! i am thinking about contrast colors such as blue and red mixxed together, something very different think that ios a good idea? :donk:
sorry about all spelling mistakes for past and future posts

Well it's always fun and original to work with pastels/charcoal but you'll need some practice with them. They are also very suitable for mixed techniques.
you just made me want to use them again but first i have to finish examperiod :p.
If you want hard contrast you can use a colored paper to start with.
When you make powder out of pastels you can use the powder as pigment for watercolor. Never tried it myself though but it should solve in water.
You can also brush dry powder on paper to get smooth effects...

Try with Alphonse Mucha (http://www.factspider.com/al/alfons-mucha.html) . He was an Art Nouveau illustratror from the 1800's. You might find interesting the way he handled the human figure. His mastery of the line is impecable too.

About craft, Try using pastel and guache... nothing too fancy or technical. Don't worry about photoshop or any software for the moment. Stick to paper and pencil. Otherwise you'll complicate your life. Let your skills grow naturally. One day you'll know you are ready for photoshop and the rest of the softwares. Do yourself a favor and trust me on this. Some art colleges have nude model open days. You pay a couple of bucks (usually less than $15) and they let you draw the model for a couple of hours. That will be awesome for you man... time to give some calls heh??

Lets see free software:

GIMP is free, but it's more of a photo editor

ArtRage simulates Oils but is a bit simplistic and messy:

OpenCanvas is an interesting Japanese program with a basic round brush;

Microsoft's Acrylic is in open beta but I've heard it is just a trumped up MSPaint:
