wow man, that is really cool. the only thing i have a problem with is how you made the hands. it makes for easier skinning when your when you model the palms facing down, rather than foreward. great clown man

Cool model!

I always wanted to know how to get the lighting like this -- how do you get a 'marble statue quality'?

there are a lot of ways to get those lightsitiuations, a script that builds a "skydome" (a spherical array of omnilights),
to build your own skydome,
use GI or Fakegi for lighting your scene
or create a new lightingsystem with key, fill and rimlights...

:D Thanks guys, yea this clown won't be getting rigged any time soon i learned my leason with this model to make the arms go straight out instead of down. Tryed to skin him once didn't go to well :( . Erik exactly what neox said but i just add afew more fill lights and rimlights with and mess up the alignment of all the light instead of all of them perfectly straight down at one angle i make sure that just about every light is going at a different angle. Neox i like your work Amazing stuff saw it back at cgtalk Good Stuff :chug:

Yeah thanx Neox and Migusan76 for the tips for GI lighting. I really don't know anything good about that stuff... but i found this (Maya script) : http://www.null3d.net/domeGI/index.html

which i think is pretty cool! Maybe somebody else can use it too.

hey mig thank you, but this is your thread so the attention should belong to you ;)

but i agree donkeyslayer, the thumbs have to look forward, rigging would be much easier then, thats just because you have now to rotate the forearm 180° to let his thumb look inward (argh my englsih sucks ;) ) but with the thumb "looking" forward you only have to rotate the forearm 90° in every direction :)
another point is that your arms are too close to the body, will be had to rig, and animating/posing his arms higher wold be fairly hard i guess

but the model it self is really good, but i guess i already told you that on another cgboard... i believe i told you that
