Howdy!

My name is Preston DuBose, and I'm President & Art Director for a small Texas-based RPG company called 12 to Midnight (http://www.12tomidnight.com). To date, we have focused on publishing modern horror RPG adventures in PDF format. We are not a terribly prolific company, due it part to the extra time we take to ensure quality. All our products are highly rated.

We are seeking talented, professional artists who know how to keep resonable deadlines and feel comfortable communicating. Extra points if you demonstrate flexibility in your artistic style. As a horror company, we do NOT need anime, four color superhero, or black and white "line" drawing styles. We're looking more for greyscale, watercolor, ink washes, or other such styles that better convey horror.

If we take you on for a project, we pay upon completion. An up front downpayment may be negotiable for bigger projects. However, don't expect to get rich off us. The RPG market is on a downturn these days and e-publishing is still fighting for acceptance. You'll get modest compensation for your work, recognition on the title page of the product (including a 50 word bio and a link to your porfolio if you wish), and a link on our website.

We have immediate need for one or two artists (depending on how quickly you work), however I would like to develop a pool of several artists to work with over the next six months to a year. So don't feel discouraged if you're not chosen right away. We pick artists partially based on how well we feel their style matches a particular project.

I'll try to check these forums regularly, but also feel free to contact me at admin at 12tomidnight.com or on our own forums at 12tomidnight.com/forum. Thanks!

Hi Mr. DuBose! I am a horror artist with credits from various role playing games including White Wolf and Wizards of the Coast. I would like more information on your projects. Some of my samples can be found here - http://mysite.verizon.net/respi8rh/. Let me know if you are interested in working with me.

Thanks,

Craig Howdy!

I dont really have a portfolio as yet, only just got back into this industry after family problems.
Im 20 and female from australia, i feel im a very dark minded person and would be more than happy to work for you guys. I can draw something at request for you if you would like to "test" my talent, to make up for the lacking in my portfolio.
This would be a good starting point for me.
Thanks for listening.

Everyone,

I am completely blown away by the quantity and quality of portfolios I have seen today. I HAVE checked out everyone who has indicated interest, but I haven't been able to keep up with replies. Rest assured that you WILL hear from me one way or another. It may just take a few days.

If you're interested in the work but haven't sent me an e-mail, that's okay. Keep 'em coming! However, just to speed things along I'd ask that you provide two pieces of information when you send me links to your portfolios (no attachments please):

We primarily have two art requirements-- 8.5x11 color covers and interior 1/4 greyscales. When you send me your e-mail it would be very helpful if you would tell me your 1) rates and and 2) turnaround time for those types of projects. (Actually, the interior art need not be greyscale, but in my experience it's usually cheaper than color and we have to work from a tight budget.) That will save me the trouble of sending you e-mail asking for the information and get you a faster response. If you're out of our budgetary league, then I can tell you so up front without a lot of extra back and forth.

Thanks, everyone, and have a great weekend!

Hey guys. I figured I owed everyone here another update. I have been absolutely drowning in submissions. While that's cool and I'm not complaining, it means I am way behind in replying to everyone. Because I consider it a matter of personal decency, I WILL reposond to everyone so you're not left hanging, but it's going to take a while. I've actually had to start a spreadsheet to keep track of who I've contacted and from whom I'm awaiting responses. To top it all off, I have to take a business trip tomorrow that will put me even further behind.

At any rate, thanks to everyone for the interest. It's not too late to send me your portfolio link (no attachments, please), but please understand that it may take several days to hear back from me.

Mr.Dubose,

My name is Dimitrius Zajczenko, I am a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Art with a degree in Media Arts and Animation. I am confident I can execute the drawings you require.

I feel that I have very strong drawing skills and that I would be more than able to bring your vision to life. While I currently do not have any horror drawings, my web site will demonstrate my ability to produce many different styles in many media. Rates for 8.5”by 11” illustration would be a flat fee of $75 dollars and a .25% grey scale $20. I imagine it would take me a few hours for a small grey scale drawing. Depending on the detail of the larger illustration 2-3 days.

My online portfolio can be viewed at http://www.dimitriusz.com/. I appreciate your feedback and consideration. I can be reached via email at either address below or by phone at 773-552-9737. Thank you.

Just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring - I've worked for White Wolf and several other RPGs before. I generally work for about $100 per 8.5 x 11 color illustration. Please check out my site at nicolecardiff.com (http://www.nicolecardiff.com). Thanks!

I'd like to thank everyone who responded to this posting-- all 58 of you! I believe I have responded to each and every one of you, but if you have not heard from me please let me know. Considering the overwhelming response from qualified artists, I'm closing this call for portfolios. It's like drinking from a firehose!

Again, thanks to everyone. Good luck with all your future jobs.
