Ok, I'm really throwing this out to Jin, but if anyonw knows....
Is there a way to change the size of the Layer and channel palettes like in Photoshop? Just arbitrarily resize them. For example, when I have a bunch of layers and I want to be able to see them all in the palette without scrolling. Or if I need the extra space, and I just want to make the palette a little bit smaller horizontally... ?

Hi,
In Painter 8 and Painter IX you can tear the Layers and Channels palettes off a group of docked palettes, then grab the lower right corner and drag to make them as large as you want.
There's a minimum size limit when they're expanded, so to make them smaller, just click the palette name to contract the palette.
Or, hit the Tab key to close all palettes at once, then hit the Tab key again to open them all again.
Check the Window menu to see what the default keyboard shortcuts are.
Though there's not a keyboard shortcut for every palette, there are default keyboard shortcuts for the Layers and Channels palettes.
In Painter IX, you can customize your keyboard shortcuts (Edit > Preferences > Customize Keys) however you want.
If you have your individual palettes each tied to a keyboard shortcut, you can easily open them whenever you want.

oh! cool! I'm so used to haveing the layers and channels palettes attached, and it won't let me make em larger than a certain amount... Well, that's easy enough. Thanks for the quick answer!!
