I have just produced a set of illustrations using Painter Classic for the first time. They looked great on the screen and great when they printed out from my inkjet printer, but when I saw the proof sheet from the printer, they looked terrible - all bit-mapped and jagged. I created my page layouts in PageMaker and imported the illustrations as tiffs. How can I smooth them out for the final product?

The dpi of your work are probably lower than 300dpi. Seems many printshops require that for decent prints.

Thanks - that's exactly the problem. The question then becomes, can I fix it by just resaving at 300dpi, or are the paintings like scanned documents that have to have the dpi set BEFORE scanning? I don't see any way to change the dpi during document set up before I begin to paint.
