hi, here are some inviroments. it's supposed to be inside of a huge and ancient spaceship. i tried to make them look old and a little futuristic at the same time.

btw, i used to go by paper tiger, and on other boards as greenpeach, theo and koshchey the deathless. not that anyone cares, i just thought i would tell you. bye now.

cc welcome.

I can only add to the sugardropping. Thatīs some awesome work. Could you fill us in on some details, like how and what for? The stuff looks a bit too profesionell to be just fer an enthuastic RP gamer.

I love the color combination of brown, golden with the small green lights.

Whatīs your job? And whatīs "Multineerīs Moon"???

I really like them.
You wanted to do this old and futuristic in the same time and I think You made it! Awesome!

Very cool indeed! Almost have a bit of that Art Deco / Flash Gordon type look about them. Very nice work.

try this! scroll resize the lower part of your browser very small. then scroll up and down on the first one. thats a great camera move right there!

thanks everybody. glad you liked. i had fun with these.

bb- i work at adv films, the project is www.mutineersmoon.com (http://www.mutineersmoon.com) . the images here are background color keys for specific shots. that's why the first one works well as a camera tilt, that's what it is.

I realize I'm a newblood here, but I really loved the books upon which these are supposed to be based, and it doesn't jive.

Dahak was supposed to be elegantly designed, and well-lit, with a sense of emptiness despite being aesthetically pleasing.

These just give the impression of dim and rusting immensity.

Don't get me wrong, they're nice, but they seem more suited to an dank ancient tomb than a self-maintained starship that has become a tomb.

I think the perspective rocks, man.
The only thing I think I would heighten is the mood...the contrast.
Make areas that have little access to light more shadowy.
More Caravagio-type lighting, y'know?
Not too much, but enough to give the place
a bit more "atmospheric depth" in an emotional sense.
But all together awsome stuff. Kudos man.

Vaarok- you hava a point. The books do discribe dahak as being clean and minimal. I guess our design team just decided that it would be more interesting to use a more texural look. Personally, I think weber's visual discriptions could use a lot of reworking by people who are more discriminating when it comes to the way things look. He really seems to be more interested in the big picture, (and how many things blow up).

Thanks again everybody.

Talking with David Weber even he realizes that some of the things he describes are either impossible or not visually interesting. He is an understanding and all around nice guy.

We are just trying to come up with an interesting motiff that is all bronze like the books describe.

i'm not gonna say it, i'm not.. ok maybe i will.. reminds me of the robots at the beginning of the 5th element. these are really awesome, it's nice to see someone really use perspective to their advantage..

i love the first one. it looks like a background scene for an animated short or something similar. man, i can almost see the cameramovement following a guard or robot walking down the hallway! ;D
