Ok, this isn't life drawing per se but it is some architicture/street stuff drawn from direct observation. for this I went up to the roof of the PeaceCorps building, where my dad works, and sketched this little Cafe Malaria place, as well as some of the surrounding scene. I think I got the basic shapes all right but I'm even less experienced with architecture and scenery than with people and I failed to capture the sharp details that made the scene so attractive to draw in the first place.
Advice and crits would be much appreciated.

Hmm...
Looks like preliminary sketch, kinda like a big thumbnail.
You might want to use a ruler. Straighter lines will definitely make it look more sharp.
I'm not sure on the perspective going on here, I think it needs some more work.
I do like the angle/view going on. Would be cool te see this as a complete piece and then colored.

Thanks for the crits
A ruler probably would have helped, I'll be sure to take one along in the future. it was a fairly quick sketch, mostly because I was standing on a sizzling rooftop and but also because I at that point I didn't feel up to anything more advanced as far as architecture/scenery (wimp). about an hour after I did the sketch, I found a book on architectural drawing and rendering and realized how clueless I was. wasn't much to post in the first place, but again, thanks for replying

You get a good sense of being on the edge, looking down. And the energy of the place is great. Remember that darker shapes come forward, lighter tones go back in space. Harder edges come forward, softer go back. This can get you more depth. Something picky but specific, like the base of the pole of the sign on the left is too dark to go back in space. Good work, must be cool being there.
