I really dig your style, man. The gorilla piece is bad ass, but this one is my favorite:

fantastic work clayrodery v.03, by the way how do you get the type on your sketch book pages? do you draw it or add it in later in photoshop

Thanks man, the way I get type onto my sketchbook(s) or other surfaces is with a printmaking technique using backward photocopies and a chemical called Xylene. Here's a tutorial on how to do it:

http://www.seattleartsupply.com/docs/copy_transfer.pdf

I myself just buy the raw Xylene chemical straight in a can, but as a beginner I would just stick to the markers. Don't use the Chartpak though, they're kinda hard to find, at least where I live. I used to use the DESIGN Colorless Blender marker shown here:
http://image.texasart.com/grouppix/528x352/2000/g2562.jpg

The blender markers have a white cap though, and say "Colorless Blender" in white on that big black space.

Ok, hope I could be of some help,

Clay

neat technique.
DarkORB you are lucky i lived in colorado as a child and loved to venture into the mountains and the air just seems to revitalize you... maybe it would be boring now as an adult but i bet you had a great childhood how many people can say they had the experience of rock climbing ect. i was relocated to milwaukee.
here goes another more resent image i created for an anti drug billboard contest

wow. that last one's cool.

ya. i love colorado. what's ironic is that most of the people i go to school with say how much thye hate this state, and can't wait to leave. they're all crazy.

here's a few thing's I sent off that got me into CA...In the end, the school you go to is a small factor, you desire to be great and your attitude is the most important thing.

good work ark... i exspecially like the female charactor. ever since i have been put on the waiting list i've been working like mad and my portfolio already shows great improvement but i hope i don't get accepted so i can take a year off to reach the almighty photorealism! perhaps not being accepted will benifit me in the long run any ways this forum provides enough stimulation to skip art school all together:D

Holy cow ARK I think I saw some of your pieces at an art competition last year. I believe it was the second one you have posted. The competition was VASE so you might have some clue to what I'm talking about. That's kinda like weird Deja Vu.

yeah, that was one of my state VASE pieces last year. If you go to state this year, maybe you'll see me, my bud Clay, and LA.

maybe I'll show up but I would have to tag along with my art teacher from last year since I've graduated since then.
