this are kinda of old ..around january..its a cafe place in atlanta,ga..pay 3 bucks and draw the model..is good practice but the poses are too short around 15min..so is not much that i can do..other drawings are from my figure drawing class..1 hour poses..now a found a place for a three hour pose hehe..now i will start painting the figure yeahhhh..

this was from my first figure drawing class..sort of a contour drawing..on newsprint..i like it..even though my knowledge of anatomy was zero back then..now i know better :)

You have to be more aware of your light source and where it is hitting the form. After that, look for the biggest/obvious shadow masses and shapes and then render those first. Another advice I can give you is to look for the straight lines and its angles when starting to block in shapes. Don't just draw a curving line because that messes up the accuracy.

I can see a lot of proportional issues in your drawings but I see that you are developing a good sense of form. Try applying what I've said, it certainly helped me a lot in improving my drawing.

thanks yeah..im starting to think about those issues more..im drawing in stages now..not all at once..disorderly... thanks for the advice..

I like what you were doing in the first one and the watercolor the most. I also saw your thread about "The Natural Way to Draw," I would suggest thinking more about the gesture and always starting that way. Try drawing from one side of the leg, arm, torso, through and around to the other. Nicolaides is about feeling the weight and volumes and mass as much as, or more than analyzing it. Hope that helps.
