This one I just finished, this is a thumb to the actual image. The file is huge.

I hate to say it, but step back from the computer color for now. Learn to crawl before you tackle walking.

Grab a pencil and focus on learning that first.

You have interesting stuff going on, the butterfly being the strongest, but you seem to lack the finallity in all of them. The digital coloring is pretty staturated and way too bright on the eyes, tone it down with some neutral or complementary colors.

Skulldog's right: you need to get a better idea of value and how it defines shape. It seems like you're relying on color to work it out and it's not happening. Likewise, for the finished section, the compositions aren't really very interesting and they just don't seem finished.

I agree, there is something intriguing about the butterfly, but the others are right, the values aren't working. In the butterfly, the blackground makes the wing detail look non-existent because the contrast is gone. You have some good ideas though. Follow these folks direction and I'm sure you'll get better.

You guys are completly right, I do need quite a bit of improvement.

I've been trying to work with my values, but I'm not quite getting it.

Tell me what exactly I need to do to ge the values right.
I'm still working in a digital medium because I have no room for any paints in my house, and I've never realy cared for many other traditinal mediums besides oil paints and pencils.

You really, REALLY need to work on making clean lines.
For the humongous size files you are working with, there is no excuse for your lines and shapes to be as jagged and unconnected as they are. The "broken" teeth in the tiger piece is just one glaring example that you are not being very precise with your lines, and the extremely pixellated "stripes" on them is another. It looks like you painted these at a small size, and a low resolution, and then enlarged the image too much. The scratchy sketch lines on the butterfly are another example of lack of detail. If you are working with only a mouse, you will need to draw your lines with the image enlarged to maybe 300%-400% to make them smoother, but the extra effort is worth it.
You would do better to make your preliminary sketches and color roughs at a low res, and then your final image at a high res.

And in addition to stepping back from your monitor and having a look once in awhile, also blow the work up and then step back a bit so you can see over pixellation and jagged lines clearer.
