Just started up a new sketch book and ive been thinking about giveing a sketchbook thread another go. I think this will be my third go at it, before the others got no replies and i let them die, hopefully i can change things this time. I still very uncomfortable with my drawings as I think ive always been, i always feel like im not really at a level i want to be at and it gets frustrating and it really affects my drawings, Its the summer now and school doesnt start untill sept so iv started a 200 page book(they didnt have any 80's/100's in the store D:!) my goal is to finish the book before school and attempt at least 2 pages a day. I want to become more comfortable with what i do and try and get a step up on all the kids in that will becomeing into school with me (sheridan illustartion 1st year, finished Art fundementals last month). Anyways here it goes :\

everthing but the cover and quick sp are from my old book i just started this one and dont have much to show for it yet.

Someone has already said to me that i draw noses too big, i dont know if its an intendtional thing when i draw or what, but ill try and get that in line along with many other things. Im going to scan in some portraits i did in class near the end of the year tomorrow and post.

Thanks

The last one on the bottom right is by far the best, very nice job.

I noticed that you draw noses quite randomly actually (small or large) I think you have to draw more from life (I assumed you didn't on the full body ones, yes?). Also get an anatomy book and do studies of the skull/bones and muscle structure, it helps a lot!

Keep it up! :yayca:

I agree with what mos667 said. You have some good drawings going on. I would recommend you check out saveloomis.org if you haven't. Great for anatomy and such. I promise you that the more life drawings you do the more you will improve. Also, don't be discouraged if you don't get many comments at first. It's hard, but you just have to keep going, if you show people dedication and perseverence they will have to reply eventually.

After scanning it the eyes are all out of proportions and jsut all crazy D:. but i guess its just another thing for me to improve on next time. I also need to work on the shading, looking for the large shapes and going that way. once again something for the next one.

Simalar thing with this when it comes to the eye. i think this makes my face a bit fatter then it really is D:, about 1.5 hours i need to get a good base, i really stumble when i start out.
