As far as the painting goes... well done...
as far as the message...
I smell ignorance.
But opinions are just that... opinions.

Why has the world community forgoten so quickly the events of September 11? Where did all of the support for a war on terrorism go? After 9/11 it was applauded that somthing was going to be done. That a war would be waged on the people that support and condone the actions of terror. It was expressed very clearly that this wasn't a war you could win in a few months. This was a war that would take many years to finish. Now the world is turning its back on the very actions that they supported less then 2 years ago. Shame on them. Artwork like this just shows a band wagon mentality that doesnt offer anything but short sightedness and ignorence.

The background seem to not fit with the cadaver, the gold tower too. Look like you've paint all those element on different doc a paste them at the end?
For the message... I must agree with it. But we don't judge opinion here, eh eh, as far it's not primal racism or thing like that :p

well im sorry ... my goal was not to raise that kind of comments ...
of course i have not forgotten the 11th september events, and any terrorism attack anywhere in the world (11th september is not the only act of terrorism ...)
but well i think we are all blinded if we honestly think that the war against iraq is really focused on terrorism ...
It is mostly about economical reasons, oil control ...
and as you can see, the dead bodies i pictured dont have any racial features .. they can be anybody, and i wanted to picture them as anybody, iraqis, american soldiers, peace protestors, etc ....the people who will die in this war, the innocents ... mostly for money .....
well i wont speak more about politics and all those things, i am sorry i raised such comments ...

Eh... I agree with you :) I'm against silly war for reason that are... well... not well define? ;)
Nobody has to die, never, for economical reason, or because someone want to rules the world :p
And I'm not going to insult someone who didn't think the same :D
Uhmm, and Irak doesn't has terrorism attack against somebody, uhm? It's Ben Laden if I remember well for the 11th september :(
So it's not all Arab people who participate to that horrible act. When somebody is murdered, you don't erase the city where he live, just because the murderer must live there too :D

I don't like it.
And the 'message' is kinda angsty teeny.

the colors are a bit muddy, the perspective and scale and construction of the drilling towers is way off (some reference here would've helped), and the anatomy of the figures is a little sloppy (again, some reference) - also, since it's an illustration delivering a specific message, it doesn't make sense that all the corpses are pink skinned caucasians
and some more creative type would help, something hand designed instead of slapped down from a font book . . .
just my opinion of course, thanks for sharing:)

Sorry Davi-
I have to say this...
The United States could buy all the oil it wants from Iraq by lifting the sanctions and helping to reconstruct the Iraqi oil fields. It is THE French and Russians who have oil deals with Saddam and thus are fixated on that issue. They don't want a war that would upset those deals.
Don't you think if it was only "All about oil and economics" that we (America) would have deposed Hussein and "acquired" the Iraqi oil fields the FIRST time?!? Hell, we COULD have said to the Kuwaiti's "You know, Saddam just walked right in here... For your protection we're going to take control of your oil fields, AND for YOUR own protection, hang on to them for awhile... at least until we know your Okay." JUST about Economics and Oil? Ignorance is bliss, but Stupid is stupid. If anyone would like to persue this further... Join me in the Lounge.
As Secretary of State Colin Powell said
"We have gone forth from our shores repeatedly over the last 100 years . . . and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have asked for nothing except enough ground to bury them in."
I agree with the technical crits I read about this peace. Having done editorial work ALONG time ago I can say it's not terribly clever and could have had much more impact if it had been a tad more subtle or way over the top. I feel it walks the middle road.

It looks pretty good. But by throwing in the text you're really pointing out the obvious, which has already been clearly stated. With the text it looks really cliche. But I hear ya bro!

This is a decent painting. Colours are muddy the lighting is flat and the text is a bit redundant, but good for you for presenting such an image. I myself would like to see a bit more light/dark contrast in it.
I am shocked at the short sightedness and ignorance displayed in many of the responses here. This is a legitimate piece of art presenting a truthful view, and stimulating emotion in the viewer.
Ironically, the short, thoughtless comments degrading the content portrayed here only go to reinforce the importance and relevance in such a piece. What does Iraq have to do with any events since the early 90's? If the Baby Bush administration wanted to help liberate a country, there are others in more need. Obviously it had everything to do with oil.
I'm not trying to debate here merely reinforcing the legitimacy of the painting.

mime, I love the piece, both the message and the display. Keep it up.
Small issue:
It's weird how you painted the environment in a lower res than the bodies... doesn't that make drawing in the higher res in the first place kind of pointless
Also, I feel hand-written text would be more fitting.

Political cartoons tend to encourage political debate. Not really a thrilling piece to me. War is a necessity when your opposition will fight you whether you want to or not. Better to fight than to roll over and be occupied.

political debates have always been brought up with pretty much decence, here on conceptart, no matter the opinions, and it will have to remain that way. i nearly hit the erase button for this message. but after all, it's a clear message of disrespect and stupidity, so let's keep it as a signal.

The real truth is i saw this picture on the computer next to me. I also saw all the patriotic Americans trying to justify the iraq wars. Who cares it's just art, it's a good piece but the way these people just keep going on and on and on about justifying the war instead of commenting on the artistic side.
