well, after reading jason's post, and looking at carl's stuff, i decided i needed to do more figure drawing. s'pose i need to step up along with all the other ringling grads.

I think that in the first portrait there is too much dark-side (left).

The second one is just great!

One person said that it is too dark on one side... Guess they never heard of a strong light on one side, and a little artistic license...

Looking at the last year drawing, and this years effort... there has been a great improvement.

The suggestion of the hair and the great care and senstivity of the lines around the shadow side of the face is great.
You have done a great job of being more in control of your medium... keep up the good work...
