very cool francis!
i love the lower colored ones.
i see a problem with [tsai 031003] the yellow thing on the helm is at 3/4, and so is the neck... but the face is still in complete profile. It's not a big problem, just something i noticed.

hey,
pretty darn cool stuff...
I like the first one a lot, though I feel it would be a better piece if the nose were more defined.

Your damn very talented! I love Your works! Very good sense of dynamic, anathomy and architecture. From now You're one of the few my best artists here on CA.org.
Btw: I think You should post it into sketch forum thread.

Great perspective! Especially on that worms-eye-view one in the sequential section.

Hi,
I like it -- you know it's good.
So, the girl covering her back arm with her forearm has a little problem (the back arm is too far out from her body I think)... you could fix it in a mo.
I especially like the facial expression tests.

Your sketchs are very well render and thoughtout. I like the bases of your work, the themes from the sea and how you incorprated that influence into your designs.

:hearts: Thanks for the feedbacks!
wizard of cos - thank you! Yeah, that perspective can be tricky to pull off, I'm glad it works for you.
adm_soul - cool, thanks.
brasshorsekiller - thanks; I'm actually missing a page or two of the comics, I'll try to post those later.
jester - hehe, well I guess I was apologizing to the dial up folks - I think it's about a meg of images.
spinefinger - cool, glad you dig them. Some cool stuff in your thread too, I should drop a line in there. Right now I am doing concept art and art direction at Rockstar San Diego. Our studio was recently purchased by Rockstar - before that we were Angel Studios. How bout you, where you at?
davi - right on; the angles don't match on that one, but that's what happens when you don't plan. I started off drawing it as a profile, then saw some interesting things in the headdress, and then suddenly it didn't jibe right. Oops.
arcipello - yup, I'm certainly not breaking any new ground mech-design-wise.
joshua - yes about the nose. This one was done back when I was working on an anime-inspired game. I had done this sketch and a bunch like it trying to nail down an aesthetic for some of the characters.
R_M - cool, glad you like it.
Fisa - yeah, or I was picturing an insect-like movement. I don't know if it's clear in the picture, but the mechanics are basically a very simplified hymenoptera/ant body. Don't poke at that one too hard though, it don't stand up. :bs:
Yaseck - oops, you are right. These are more preliminary type sketches.
Swedish chef - cool, thank you.
custodian - yeah, I can see what you mean. Thanks!
glenn - thank you.
LC3 - thanks; I just finished a short story for Metal Hurlant. Don't know when it will be published though. Also, I got your message - most of the time the perspectives are just eyeballed. However, I put in a lot of hours doing pretty tight constructed perspectives when I was doing architectural renderings. Kinda burned out on that stuff, and now I like the eyeball method, even though I end up with funny things now and then.
mjolnir - cool, thanks!
silicore designs - thank you, yeah there is so much out there inspiration wise - I don't see why things tend to look so much alike in a lot of game and movie concept work. Not that I think my stuff is breaking too much new ground...
Thank you for the support and feedback.

Great work F.
The combo of those cool roman/praetorian guys and the usual anime-cyber-future is very cool. Neat mix of themes...

mushuhaha - hehe
marc_taro - thanks man. It's interesting, people interpret the "monks" as Tibetan, Peruvian, Roman, all kinds of different cultures.
thenetbox - thanks, glad you like.
odin six - cool thank you; good luck with your studies...
saladbowl - thanks; the real thing (oarfish) is even freakier. Nothing like real life to inspire some strange ideas.
I wanted to add a few more sketches from my book here - recent stuff. Some doodles, some developmental stuff. Mostly doodles..

Really nice Francis! I like the line quality and the way you curve legs. The one with the climbing girl almost have Bisley-ish lines (thin, tembling but well placed), which I like. There's an old comic called StarHawks by Gil Kane that have similar line art.
