Well I like them both, and having a unique style is pretty appreaciated by anyone and ppl get drawn to your art.
You should try to draw life figures but in that style so you really see if it is something for you. Personally your style is great try to keep it up...

This stuff would make good concept art for traditional animation. I think you could push them farther though, especially the first one. Some color and a full value range would do the mermaid well. :)

I like them both. The sepia tones in the second one work especially well.

oh.. i just realized... i was confused by your comments, severith, because i had done life drawings in that style... i don't have any of them up though... my scanner is really strange and when i use a light grey, it either drops it out all together, (like the mermaid) or makes it lighter than the paper (like the knight) with the knight, i futzed with it till i had that sepia thing going on, making the light grey like a white.. like i meant to do that. :) but that didn't work on the life drawings, so i'm gonna have to find a better scanner or something, cause i really like those drawings!!!
thanks for the other comments, i'll try fleshing out the mermaid a little more!!

Lol, I totally get what you mean by "these things have necks" after going through your webpage. I like them both, very energetic and smooth in quality, but they still retain abit of your comical style.

hahaha, i'm, not a big fan of the neck. if I had a cartoon, it'd be called bell shaped world... :) are you saying it's good they retain a bit of that style, or bad? or that it doesn't really fit in the category of "new" for me... just trying to figure it all out. still have to color in that mermaid.... i'm thinking i'll play with gouche. i mean. WORK with gouche. :D
