Yeah! I like it too... Fast and really easy to use. :) I haven't yet worked out where it saves all my temporary internet files though.... I've been hearing good things about Opera as well, but don't know much about it.

FF is a tremendous browser hands down, once you master the keyboard shortcuts the world even becomes a much happier place.
Yet, I still find myself using Safari most times.

Type about:cache into the address bar. It will tell you the location of the Cache Directory.
You can also click List Cache Entries to see what's in there and click the individual links to see images.
Though if you go to the actual folder where the files are saved, I don't know how you can tell what anything is because it seems they rename everything.

Oh, I usually use firefox and avant. I like firefox, but sometimes it crashes on me when I'm listening to audio files or watching video. So then I use avant, which I like because it can remember all the tabs you had open the last time you used it.
EDIT: Hmm, I think I found an extension that can do something similar for firefox as well. Cool.

Hmm whats opera about?
Click. (http://www.opera.com/)
It has been around quite a long time and is already in version 8. It can do everything firefox can do, and it's all integrated rather than having to download extensions.
It's personal preference really. I was using Opera long before Firefox came around and I just don't find Firefox to be as good personally.

I also prefer Opera. It can remember the tabs/pages you had open last time, you can save sessions (so you can open a set of tabs at once), it has an integrated RSS feed reader (very useful!)...there's even an e-mail client in there if you want it (but it's easy to turn off - I use outlook instead). Oh, did I mention the zoom thingy? Or that the address bar behaves properly (as opposed to the one in firefox)? Or the flexible user interface? And...to my knowledge Opera is better then Firefox at handling pages which are only supposed to work in IE.
And no need to download any extensions. It's all built-in and working from start.

Plus the new version of Opera has voice support. Meaning you can browse the internet, etc. by simply speaking commands into a mic. You can also get it to read back highlighted text to you. It's pretty great. :)
Sorry to hijack your thread. :bashful:
It's just that firefox gets all the attention these days, and I honestly feel Opera is the better choice.

Firefox.avi (DivX) (http://www.ngnorden.com/art/firefox.avi)
Since I luv ffox so much I made a small animation.
I tried Opera once but I didn't like it. Now I can't remember why, so since you all speak so highly of it I guess I'll give it another chance. (Though I keep getting drawn to using programs with cute mascots like ffox & freebsd)

Barebones, Firefox is pretty plain. You need to get a couple of extensions if you want it to *squirt* the *happy colors*. IE makes me *frumple* now.

We have ffox at home and at college so it's what i'm most comfortable with. I don't watch videos or listen to music on my PC, so i never find any problems, just that my computer doesn't have enough memory to run too many CA pages, lol

For some odd reason IE is faster on my comp, so i'll stick to IE.

Though there is some debate over how many resources firefox uses vs. opera, generally firefox is thought of as a more "lightweight" program.
So while some people like the fact that opera already has a bunch of capabilities built in, others prefer firefox because you just download the extensions you want and don't have the unnecessary weight of the stuff you don't want.
While how many resources a browser uses doesn't concern a lot of people, it does matter to some, especially those with slower computers.

^^^ good points there.
and IceMoon, the problem with IE is how dangerous it is in that it's very vulnerable to spyware and other security flaws.

Though there is some debate over how many resources firefox uses vs. opera, generally firefox is thought of as a more "lightweight" program.I agree with that. But it's not like Opera eats memory for nothing...it actually stores pages (not only those you currently are on, but also the history) in memory, so that you can access them super fast. If you have a lot of memory or you don't have many other memory eating programs open at the same time, Opera is actually faster than Firefox.
I don't know about running it on a slower computer, but since there are lots of options to specify how much to store in memory/on disk, I believe it can work pretty good on a slow computer too.
