Here is my first time painting with an airbrush....let me know what you guys think. Please dont tell me it looks like H.R. Giger's work...i already realize that.
.....just a subconcious or self conscience thing i guess.

Interesting... hard to see what's going on. Theres a lack of definition in general, are you using sheilds or masks? It doesn't look like it.

no...its all done freehand....im glad you find it interesting.....the lack of detail
and definition is because i wanted to make the subject mysterious....fog...eerie lighting...ya know...standard mystery type shit.

I was just wondering how big the piece is?

I don't know much about airbrushing, but your character's face is a little off. You might want to focus on symmetry and proportion.

What kind of airbrush are you using? If you're doing stuff freehand you should have a dual action brush. This will allow you to get very fine detail, and also lay down heavier lines. Airbrushing is like any other type of painting. First you block in your large areas of shadow/form etc, then you work back in and fill in the detail. Filling in the detail is the part you're going to need to work on. You'll need to practice your strokes so you can keep the brush close, but move it fast enough to keep it from bleeding. You also need to consider the type of surface and the pigment you're using. What you have now is something that looks more like a start than a finished painting. Now that you've established some forms you need to go back in and work up the detail. That's it for now I guess. Cya.
