Hi people,

So here's what happened.. I tried to capture paper to make a new texture and it failed miserably and automatically shutdown.
now everytime I try and bootup Painter IX i get two box messages..

First this one...

Can't open the File ''PAINTER.PAP''

And then straight after I close that box I get this one...

The preferred paper library ''PAINTER.PAP'' could not be opened.

Once I close that window Painter shuts itself down and it just will NOT load up.

I'm completely stuck, i'm assuming I've corrupted the file somewhere but I've no idea how to get the program working again or what exactly I did wrong.
I've uninstalled it twice now with no luck, the same problem arises .

Can anyone help me here? I have deadlines for Friday... CROAK!!

Cheers in advance!

Scott.

Hi blobs,

Your 'User' Painter IX folder can be reset to factory defaults by holding down the shift key whilst restarting the Painter IX application. However, you may wish to move or backup any custom resources (custom brushes/libraries) from the respective user folder first, otherwise these will be lost.

The Painter IX User folder may be found in the following location;

Win:
N\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Corel\PainterIX\

Mac:
/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Corel/PainterIX/

There is also an issue with the default Paper textures library loading via a custom palette in Painter IX; see this post (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showpost.php?p=337588&postcount=6).

Hey Sandaman,

Thanks for the reply.. for some reason I didn't get an email that you posted a reply.. so I apologize for the late reply.

Luckily I had some pc and Painter savvy friends online that sorted it out for me. Doing exactly what you state here.. although i lost my home-made textures the program works a treat again now :)

Again.. thanks for the reply :)
