one of the many things I noticed when I studied Rubens' art is that he really, really loved painting, you see it in every brushstroke.
I think I'll do some more hehe.
these were done with oils on 80*60cm paper btw.

wow I love that style!
How long did they take each?
Be careful with Rubens, sometimes he used wrong muscle anatomy just to dramatize the surfaces :)

These were done in one session each, I'd say 10-12 h.
Haha, Rubens work is not about anatomy anyway :) , it's about colours, composition.

great studies kaini. You really managed to capture some of Rubens' qualities... Did you learn much from doing them?

baroque period in general did that ...much like michelanglo did
