What's Up

This is my first time posting anything, anywhere, ever. I am making a tiger in maya and I am trying to do something pretty realistic. I would think it would be easier to find good reference of tigers on a simple google search, and I have been to lazy to look very hard for some good pics. So I have been using my cat who sits on my lap whenever I am at my computer. So if the tiger looks more like a house cat than a tiger, it is my cats fault for not looking enough like a tiger.

This is just a start so if anyone thinks it sucks point it out. I'll put more images when I get to semi cool level of detail.

well.. it's not bad at this lowpoly stage.. I'd like to see the wireframe because I think some of the deformation doesn't follow the muscle entirely. I'll try to find a good reference for tigers for ya. Keep it up, adios.

I've done a bit of work on the Tiger so the wire frame may be better or worse. I have only make 3 or 4 simple characters so this is my first attempt at making nice edge loops.

Tell me if you think this is any good or if I should go back and try something different

As far as the question from omarpac, how the model was started. It was started with a box for the head and extruded from there. After that i just started cutting in detail.
This is the basic starting picture

Thanks for the comments see ya later.

I'm slowly getting the tiger close to the finished point. I spent a bit of time learning to build a rig, so he will soon be in motion. I painted him today and hope to put a fur simulation or something on him.

the rough paint job looked like he got ran over by a marker truck, so I'm nearly happy with the way he is now. I know I have work to do on the seems and i am going to add teeth and such later. Other than that i don't know that I will change much. If you see something that bothers you free free to thow sharp objects at me, or just give me suggestions, whatever makes you happy.
