It's a good design. not too keen on the necklace, though. And his legs are hella stuff. I like the sword, and his eyes.

The meaning of a symbol is in the eye of the beholder, for Hindus and Bhuddists it might mean one thing, but most people will only think Nazi. When I was your age I was drawing comic book figures, that's a good place to learn which poses are interesting and exciting, and which ones are stiff and awkard like this one. Also not sure where the all seeing eye is or if you've grasped the popular interpretation of that one either. General sense of form is pretty good, spend more time defining it with a strong light source.

hindus arent required to be peaceful.
Cool picture. The biggest thing holding it back is the stance itself. Since other people have mentioned that, the only thing I would say is define some of his arm and chest muscles. google a picture of a muscluar guy or find one some where, and use that to look where the muscles are. for a freshman this is really fucking awesome.

I might be wrong but the Nazi swaztika is clockwise and the more enlightened swaztika was counter-clockwise. On a side note, a lot of people in north america sport tatoos or garnments with a cross very similar to the ones nazis were using on their uniform. Not knowing the meaning of it they wonder why they get weird glances when visiting europe... It still holds a very powerful meaning and is still associated with the regime. Sometimes it's good to do a little research on not only anatomical references but symbolism. Especially when you want to include them in your art. Semantics can be a very powerful mean of communications and you want to avoid mistundersandings ;)
Subliminal message to validate this post is : get references on anatomy. get pose references even it if means taking a picture of yourself doing it. :)
