Been lurking for a while, I finally have something to contribute.

I'm a student at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I just finished this short fight sequence. Hope to get an internship in the videogame industry. Hope you all enjoy robots fighting!

Nice work, Danny. I like the models and the character design a lot, and the animation is a good start. You have strong poses and a fluid sense of motion. What you need to work on is your timing. Most of the dramatic impacts in you animation are very cushioned and weak. This is because things are slowing down before they hit, which they shouldn't be. Take for instance the gun hitting the ground about halfway through the piece. It should continue accelerating until it slams into the ground, however you have it slowing down before it hits the ground. If you work out these timing issues throughout your animation, this could turn into something really good.

Very well done, though i don't like this wild camera moves...it makes me think that the artist tries to hide some errors in the animation itself :)

You should add some sounds, it would push the whole thing a lot...since the music doesn't match to the aniamation..

Burncomics: Much appreciated, sometimes the graph editor pulls tricks on me! :)

Fozzy: I just like camera movement and people seem to usually enjoy it. If there is one thing I've learned in school it is that people will use too many medium/long shots to showcase their model or movement instead of making it all work together. The animation when created though is obviously not done from the camera's perspective :)

dude you should be really proud of yourself --this is a really great portfolio animation piece. I agree with burn about the timing--but the gun and robot falling was really the only thing that was blatant --and i think sound effects would add alot

loved teh cell shaded look and designs of the bots--got any 2-d art designs you can post?

my interest did begin to wain towards the end when they started fistfighting-just because, well...theyre robots--andi can only watch robots punch eachother for so long before i wanna see some oil spill. but thats just presonal pref. you done good. im sure youll get that internship/and or job in games

good luck--ty

good start... the beginning is really nice, when you see the close up of the legs running.

i have to agree with adam on the timing. you should really listen to him. he knows his animation, he was one of the best of his class a ringling. i think a lot of the action needs to be sped up, in some places twice as fast as it is, especially anytime things ar falling or coming at the camera.

i do think you have some good poses here, but i think you could push them even further. for instance, when the robots first go hand to hand and the yellow one throws the blue, you see the yellow one twist, but if you leaned it even further it would appear to be more forceful.

so long story short, speed up the animation and make the poses even more dynamic.

good stuff, you should be proud.

Thanks, I appreciate the comments and am taking them to heart for the next piece.
