:O Give me back that link, you're not my friend anymore. >:|

I actually looked that up on google, and it looks like a seriously sweet festival. But then you go to Watts and live in California, so i guess you get fairies for breakfast as well, and on your last party you had to throw out Marilyn Manson because he puked into the fridge again. Everything i know about california i've learned from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and James Bond. Seriously though, i hope you have lots of fun there. :teeth:

I've listened to the album 3 times today, before i went to work, when i came back, and when i came back from the library just now. It's like seeing an old friend again and finding out we both grew older and still get along just fine.

i only dig a few of the tracks, the others i find painfully annoying.

Hahahah. Man, if only all that were true. :D But yeah, Coachella should be fun. Last year though it was 105 degrees out there (in whatever the fuck scale we Americans measure heat stuff by). And I brought my Camelbak (http://camelbak.com/), but they weren't letting people in with them. Fortunately I had a cool security guard who let me sneak mine in. That made all the difference! We'll see if I get away with it again this year. :/

Haha, that's awesome.

A big step down from "broken" and "The downward spiral" imo.

I want one of those Camelbaks now. I mean it rains on a daily basis here, but still.

Davi, my guitar teacher used classic conditioning techniques. Starting with small doses, he exposed me to increasingly large amounts of terrible music. This taught me to appreciate really awesome guitar solos (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin). It helped get me off KoRn, but it has some strange side effects. I know what you mean about the annoying tracks, but i'm strong now. I can take it.

I saw me some NiN. It was teh good. I think Trent's been working out. Seriously. That boy's got like...Danzig neck now. :x Hehe. And man, his guitar player...what a fucking spaz. Besides his spaztastic stage antics, he ended the set by destroying his amp with his guitar. Waste of a perfectly good Parker Fly. >:| :nohope: Speaking of which...not sure if the song was supposed to sound like that (as I'm not completely familiar with NiN's catalogue), but during this one song I couldn't help but think "Man...I've never heard a Parker sound that bad." I didn't know they COULD sound that bad! Haha.

Anyways, was still a kick ass show.

"With Teeth"...

i think his teeth got pulled personally.
i found the album very tame and uninspired.

kind of a bummer, ive been a NIN fan since i was a wee little lad.

 :(

i think the new album is perfect. if you listen to every nin album in a row it illustrates the journey of one brillant and self tortured indivudial, his music is honest and i belive it comes from a real place.

i saw NIN at Coachella too, outstanding
performance. its one of the few bands that you want to hear thier new songs live. I also got met Trent in person later, really awesome guy, he is a big metroid prime fan.

ive got tickets to see nin agian in austin at a really small venue,

there are some songs on the album that didnt grab me at first but after a few playthroughs i cant get them out of my head

With Teeth rules!

On NIN.com Trent has been tracking his progress on this album for over a year, and I've been watching with a dropped jaw. It's cool someone so introspective and brilliant, opening his mind up to the public for display.

And putting that garageband file for public download is the coolest thing any artist has ever done.

Oh, and All that could have been is the best live music dvd I've ever seen.

how did you manage to meet the man?! :bashful:

Fukifino, sounds like a great show. Good to know Trent's still a Rocker. I used to think "Man, he should have given that guitar to me instead of destroying it, it was perfectly good!" until i bought a guitar and found out what they charge for a good amp. Now i'm the guy with the US Stratocaster and the cheap ass amp for a good couple of years already, with no Marshall Tube Amps in sight. >:|

I think it's cool Trent didn't record another Downward Spiral. I wasn't that much of a fan of The Fragile. In NIN albums i always liked the sound With Teeth has more of, so for me it's perfect. I read an article once about musicians and videogames. Both Trent and Mike Patton were interviewed about their gaming habits, and they both claimed to spend as much time playing as possible. That was a few years ago though. Still awesome.

At first I thought it was pretty weak, too mellow and his worst album, but I keep listening to it over and over, and like it more and more. Maybe I am just making myself believe the lie, but then its a beautiful lie. Keep listening to it; its no fragile, but better than nothing, and I hear he wants to release another album within a year.

I'm going to guess that it was through Kevin Llewellyn (puddnhead) who's friends with Trent.

i personally loved the new style of the remix tracks of that 'and all that could have been' album and the Fragile.

it's good to see them back in the groove. they haven't lost the ability to inspire me.

I was in the same boat... the first play through disappointed me somehow but after a couple of listens it started to click. I think a little part of me wants to hear more Broken and Downward Spiral era nails again. "Everyday is exactly the same" is a perfect song though, defintely my favorite track from the album.

I really wanted this album to move more towards the less vocals/more instrumentals side of the musical spectrum. I like the direction he seemed to be heading with "The Fragile" and this one seemed, not only cliche, but insincere.
Bummed am I.

amen to that. That was how i was with The Fragile. i honestly did not listen to the second cd all that much for over a year. then one day i sat down and listened to it, listened again. and then just got hooked. now 'The mark has been made' and 'the way out is through' have more plays on my iTunes playlist than like any other track.

same with With Teeth when i got it. although even though i appreciate it, as far as listening to music goes i do still appreciate The Fragile more. but aye. it definitely is a fine step in the direction their music is taking. i love it.

i just saw them last night, the best show I've ever experienced. they played the perfect mix of new and old songs, even played burn from natural born killers soundtrack. the show sold out in 30 minutes here, and I thought all the hype would make me disappointed, but it far exceeded my exspectations.
