i can't figure out how to fix my signature... does anyone remember what the syntax is to correctly make a sketchbook hyperlink to this thread?

Concerning your signature, it looks like you're just missing a bracket at the end of the first "url."
As for your art, very nice. I'd say more but you've put me in the mood to go practice. :painting:

great work, looks like you really put yourself through a vigorous routine. i like the outdoor observational stuff a lot. what kind of fabercastle pen is that? a brush pen? i think i want to try one..

hey, thanks for the nice words! i wouldn't really call my drawing vigorous... because it is really how i relax. with homework in history and speech, as well as helping out texturing a friend's animation set... drawing at the end of the night is kind of my wind down.
i do draw in the park a lot, however. that is relaxing too :)

really nice work! everything from the figure work to the robots and the small landscape sketches. i really like the way you break the borders in some of your pieces and utilize the next page(i know alot of people do that but i just wanted to point it out). very good.
congradulations you amused me for a half hour...
i think im gonna go draw now. :teeth:

so today i went to GDX at the SCAD atlanta campus. what that means is that i got on a bu sat 4:30 AM and drove 4.5 hours (on sideways seats) to atlanta, and heard a day of video game industry related lectures. it was great! i did not, however, get enough sleep the night before. as a method of staying awake, i drew off and on all day - on both the bus as well as durring the lecture.
it was a long day and i am ready to hit the sack... it felt good to draw a lot, though. some nice practice looking at my left hand carefully :)

so my roomate and i got inspired to make a very high detail sci-fi 3d model as an experiment - and i am the concept guy. he is currently working on an auto-rig script for maya (which is totally amazing), and this model will hopefully be the test mesh. here is a preliminary sketch - hopefully many more to come - better to do the planning on paper, instead of in polygons :)

cool book man! prolific, and there's a good sense of your persdonality in it. lots of people are missing that from their drawings. the life drawings are cool, they all make interesting compositions on each page. try bringing a portable watercolor set out with you sometime and playing with that... or toned paper w/ a light & dark color pencil to quick identify light and shadow. if that makes any sense. glad to have seen your book, keep up the cool drawings!

well, i am now back at school and it is time to get back to work. here are some color concepts that will be part of my grand plan for my reel. it's not actually all that grand, but for once i actually have a plan of action. there's more on the way for sure.

Is it just me or does that last one have Feng Zhu written all over it??? Maybe I've just been looking at his stuff too much... Regardless that's pretty cool, I definitely love the style, you sure seem pretty versatile. It looks a little offbalanced for a vehicle though, but who needs symmetry? ;) Glad to see you posting more color stuff, they all have a great feel to them. Actually, glad to see you're posting again! :yayca:

hello again! runt: thanks for remembering that i exist! i dipped off the radar for a while over the summer because i got a concept job at a game studio in atlanta - but that has now turned part-time and i am back at school. that means that there will be alot more sketchbook stuff coming, because i am in life drawing class, anatomy class, and working on my reel (which will be very heavily weighted toward concept art). all that said, it is great to be back.
as for the feng similarity - you absolutely made my day :) i have decided to become a bit of a feng understudy - because he is my favorite CA. i figure that as soon as i learn to paint in a way similar to him, i will branch off on my own style - but he is a great milestone to try to approach. no one can be as good as he is - but i hope to model myself in his image for a while until i become a compotent painter.
so, thanks for noticing! apparently it's working!

Hey dude! I love the lineart on the latest enviro you posted. I also love the left-hand-heavy compositions done during class. I have to try that one out. I have a few ideas for our project, just shoot me an IM sometime.
