Spaceship sketch (250kb)

There's no fancy story to this one. I was going to put together a marker "how to", and I came onto a side trick with this...

I started out with a super quick marker sketch, and then scanned it and colored it in Photoshop.

very slick, I really like your treatment of this one in photoshop, added alot of atmosphere to the piece without losing the quality of the markers.

I'd love to see a breakdown on you process in photoshop. My only complaint would be the shape of the craft, while functional isn't overly aestheticly pleasing (in my opinion) I realise that space craft don't need to follow the same rules as other craft but I found it hard to get a clear sense of direction from the design.

very nice i love the pantone work the head gear looks odd thats all, the craft is very lovecraftian in a way if you look it in a certain light. i have to get back to using markers and less pencils ( spent to much time my elf doing crap storyboards for people to pay the bills) only thing i do say is that the character is unique but the craft looks a lot like anything else that appears out of ilm or sony etc. not a basd thing dont get me wrong, but peraps looking at film design from the 50s and 60s might be a good idea. thers not a lot of source materila but waht ther is is bloody fantastic.

very cool! i do think the structure of the pilot could've been better though. the technique and design look great!

great sketch, beutiful colors. only thing i can say is that the lighting is a bit off. the reflecting light on the pilots helmet should also be lighting the pilots face. this would also bring more emotion to the piece.
