Iron Man

I've noticed that people tend to respond to digital art here more often than traditional art, so I decided to do a little digital piece which is something I rarely do.

The fact that you used the iron man to make a digital painting of seems to work really well! A lot of digital artwork feels very "controled" to me. I think it's perhaps that the brushstrokes feel the same in so many different areas. So with that in mind and the loose line work... WITH the subject matter (a comic character), it seems to come together to me very well. I can't seem to find any real crit for it. The top of the pic looks good for a title or logo, for the front of a comic book.

iron man feels too sketchy for me. I would define his arms and thigh more by showing more of the anatomy. no crit on the painting itself, u have a nice technique.

Bowlin - I agree with you on how digital art can look very controlled. Actually that is mostly why I don't do that much digital art. I really like traditional art and I love art that has that human quality to it.

patdzon - I felt that I should have defined the arms and his thigh more too, I guess I just got bored looking at my computer and drawing. One main reason rendered this piece with a sketchy style is I like "battle damaged" armor, so I didn't want Iron Man to look like he just washed and waxed his suit.

I'll admit that Iron Man is my favourite marvel comic hero by far, and I am totally psyched that the movie is in production!! finally...

having said that, the "cheekbones" , or the indents on the cheeks don't work for me- but, I am feeling the anger and emotion in this piece.

overall, its not bad
