Hello and welcome to my gallery thread. As an artist I do drawings, sculptures, computer models, and animations. The images I'll post here will be examples from my gallery over at DA (http://aarowswift.deviantart.com/gallery/), but not exhaustive of my work. Some of my images can get pretty big. I do invite anyone interested to check out my full gallery and offer critiques for pieces not posted here. Now, on with the show.
The Gallery
"Cerulean Grace" (http://www.deviantart.com/view/14751623/)

Hand drawn, colored in Photoshop.
"Ninja Cat 2" (http://www.deviantart.com/view/10863577/)

Inked by hand then colored in Photoshop.
"Argent" (http://www.deviantart.com/view/14196447/)
http://ic1.deviantart.com/fs6/i/2005/033/1/7/Argent_by_AarowSwift.jpg
A character design of mine. This particular drawing intended to help me figure out the character's tattoo patterns.
"Contours" (http://www.deviantart.com/view/10998318/)
http://fs5.deviantart.com/i/2004/273/8/f/Contours_by_AarowSwift.jpg
A little something from a figure drawing class that I just really liked.
"The Smile" (http://www.deviantart.com/view/10998010/)
http://fs5.deviantart.com/i/2004/273/2/b/Alien_Head_by_AarowSwift.jpg
A design for an alien's head. Someday I'll draw the whole alien.
Note: If images refuse to display for you, let me know and I’ll add direct links to them.

Feels a bit soft and screams of the "stained glass" filter.

You say that like it's a sin.
I'm not sure what you mean by soft and yes, I played with the Stained Glass filter to get the scale effect. I copied the raw effect onto another layer and took it off the layer with the image, then worked the transparency on the overlay and finally erased the effect where I didn't want it to show.

final fantasy fan?
"red lion" is similar to RED XIII in FF7.
Anyways, that gestural drawing looks hot. Good job.
Reminds me of Glen "circle boy" Vilpuu and his love of ellipses.

Don't turn Manky83 on us here. Skip the filters. That goes for the noise filter too.
The drawing and coloring looks good though. The three first pictures in your first post wouldn't load for some reason.

It's mostly nice even gradations everywhere. Vary it up a bit. The toeclaws aren't soft right now and look how much they clash with the feet. The claws are far more dynamic.

Thank you. Yes, I played and enjoyed Final Fantasy 7 back in the day but I didn't have "Nanaki" in mind when I named this character. Red Lion's name was inspired by "King of Red Lions" who was the the talking boat in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

I've gone back and turned all of the titles into hyperlinks. Sometimes images don't load even though the source site is up and running, so if a picture doesn't show here, go ahead and try the link.

learn to paint in real life and then go back to photoshop.
things like that bg in the "Cerulean" picture= badbadbad!
cant say much about the things you draw.. if you like furry cats with sticks and womens breast.. have fun.

Gee, how charmingly insulting. I have an Associates degree in Fine Arts and another in Animation, so I do like to think I know how to paint. I'm here to seek opinions to improve but this sort of garbage I'll be ignoring.
Now, let me get something out of the way. Filters are a tool, and they are a tool I choose to use when I see fit. Getting an effect mechanically as opposed to doing it by hand does not somehow invalidate the end result. If you really hate filters that much, then ignore their presence or ignore my art. I hardly use filters all the time and usually just noise to add a little texture to a digital piece if that’s what I want.
And finally, yes, I draw some anthropomorphic characters. If you just can't take that sort of thing, you are in the wrong thread. Rather than polluting this space with your intolerance, go elsewhere.
I’ve looked into a number of threads around here that depict female characters wearing costumes seemingly designed for the sole purpose of exposing their breasts. I hate that sort of thing but it’s personal taste and I’m not about to go pestering other artists about their subject matter. Not even in a snide, indirect way.

well personally im not a big fan of filters, but i guess they slow you down in your progress for doing textures. using custom brushes would be much better in my opinion.
the red lion is the most interesting, but i am puzzled since there is no contour. there is a grab of anatomical errors, like the eyes. his claws ( and also other elements, but mainly his feet claws ) merges too harshly with the feet, as if they both had no relations betwen them.
meh in a nutshell, there is indeed potential, but your techniques doesn't make it as an eye-candy.
i do like the alien, there filters are less visible, but the shading on his teeths seems off.
im not a big fan of DA, so i will only keep looking at this thread for updates :P
