You're doing figure sketches the same way i used to do mine.

You are going line by line and outlining the figure then filling it in with wiggle shading.

What you need to be doing is showing the forum as a whole. Drawing the shading and the figure at the same time.

Try taking some figure drawing classes, call up colleges and are related buildings near you to see if they can offer help finding some.
