Someone in another forum was accepted to DigiPen, and their course descriptions sounded out-of-the-park at the site. If that's your specific field you're aiming for, few things I imagine would excite you more.

Scattered Logical is reffering to me! :D Digipen is THE gaming school. They offer a Bachelor of Science in Real Time Interactive Simulation (videogame) These kids do an absolute buttload of programming and math. They love math and they program for fun. They also offer a Master's in the same field. As far as design goes, they also offer a Bachelor of Fine arts in Production Animation (this is what I'm going for) All these kids do a buttload of artwork and drawing and modeling and animation and acting, etc. They love doing art and drawing and designing characters and writing stories, and have a need to express them through animation. Both courses are intended to apply to Videogames, but they also can apply to other things. Some of the BS kids go work for microsoft programming office or something. And some of the BFA kids can go to Movie companies or advertising agencies, to make movies or commercials. The courses are phenominal, but it is NOT a school for the weak of heart. I'm even afraid that I'm gonna have to REALLY buckle down. The coursework is RIGOROUS. and they have no tolerance for slacking. There is a high dropout rate, because there are kids who think it's going to be easy, or playing videogames all the time. People are expected to put in a lot of extra time in the labs going above and beyond the requirements of assignments. You MUST love what you do. You must have a passion for it. and you must have goals that you WANT to reach with all of your being. If this is something that you want. Something that you love. Something that you can see yourself doing for the rest of your life, then get to http://www.digipen.edu
If you are trying to get in this year, man you're late in the game. You MUST APPLY NOW! spots fill up fast. I'm lucky to have gotten in I think. If you're applying for the BFA, you need to have an art portfolio. (details on the site). Yes, it's an expensive school, and you're missing out on a lot of possible scholarships if you haven't been applying for them. Get your stuff together, and get it now! If you're still in highschool, and you're not ready to go yet. Start early. Start learning all you can. learn if this is the right place for you. Research schools. There are tons of art schools. And almost any university has computer science classes. (art classes are more of an art college thing for computer animation, but general art degrees can also be found at local universities) So, if you want to come to DP, get ready. It's a lot of work, but I think it's going to be worth it. :D I'm so excited, and you should only come if you will be too.
