View Full Version : Artist/collaborator for a perverse graphic novel

I'm working on a storyline for a graphic novel that I would like to submit to publishers. However, I need an artist willing to collaborate and do some pencil drawings for the initial presentation. The story is a bit demented and adult oriented. Let's say, combine Caligula, David Lynch, and a good dose of nihilism and fetishism/erotica. Feel free to email me at sleepingvirus@mailsnare.net

Is this a paying job?

Um..I don't think it is because a presentation is usually a proposal and if it gets published, that's when the team of writer/artist gets the dividends (or paychecks)..to my understanding. After all, I've been published in the small press industry.
I've emailed him once a long time ago...not sure if the address works or not.

But I've seen better...ever seen Legend of Urotsokudoji? (or Legend of the Overfiend) Unbelievable x-rated anime..classic. Even the 2nd one...do I LOVE the beginning parts of that

Yeah, I know. That's why I asked. So the question would be, why is this guy posting in the paid jobs section? If iodementia is paying people for their time, then I would like to hear more. If he isn't, then he posted in the wrong section.

Overfiend is awesome!

 It sure is awesome. I do happen to have a very rare Art of Overfiend in my collection.
As for the wrong post, I agree. It should be for 'non-paying' and collaborative and in fact, a contract or mutual agreement should be written up first before the project goes underway. When people say "All I need is your time and talent"...trust me: RUN! They want to waste your time without paying you..and exploit you without any legal ties or responsibilities.
Does'nt CIA teach that aspect these days or have they forgotten to? I assume Rich Boger retired from the Career Services office, did'nt he?
I've been trying to get info on nighty life drawing courses but I heard CIA closed it again. $15 for 2 hours? That's getting ridiculous..if it is the case, it should've been 3 or 4 hours worth for that price alone and move the class closer to the weekend. If not, I may have to organize a private session myself....somehow :/.
I miss CIA though..and was upset that I missed the SteamBoy anime at the cinematheque recently.
There was a girl that graduated about 1 or 2 years ago who is deaf/hard of hearing and took painting or ceramics? Was her name Allison something? I ask because I wonder if there were any more hearing impaired creatives going to CIA and that I was the only one there at the time.
Talk about a challenging era for me.

Cheers,

-Adam

What's up Pilgrim (haha, that's funny, makes me sound like John Wayne). I didn't notice you were from Cleveland before, and you graduated from CIA. What year? What department? Lately the school has gone to crap because of attempts to restructure the curriculam. Hopefully it will work out in the end, but I'm glad I graduated when I did. PM me and we can talk more.
