Hey, someone who's been banned from conceptart ( name of NobodyYouWouldKnow ) has left a very chilling message at Digital Webbing Forums here (http://digitalwebbing.com/forums/showthread.php?p=747051#post747051) ( screen name PleaseJustKillMe ) in which not only is he threatening to kill himself, but he also plans on kidnapping and torturing a child if he doesn't improve at art! Obviously the guy is totally unbalanced. Should the police be informed, or am I being paranoid? Any talk of kidnapping and torturing a child should be taken seriously, surely!

He has pm'ed me repeatedly saying how he is going to kill himself and take at least one life with him. I can post his messages from him to me here if you are interested.

It's like an mild form of autism, he focusses only on wanting to draw like he pro, but he is'nt one. That makes him depressed. When your depressed you can't draw well. But because his mind is only on becoming pro he forces himself to draw, which does'nt work. That's why he hates it. It's a bit like a vicious circle and it's only getting worse. I suggest he gets professional help.

In a way I feel really sorry for this guy, he sounds like a tortured soul. Hope someone can help him.

it might be quite for sure that, he is not just a lazy guy with unrealistic expectation, who gets horny about selfdestruction.

- gets drugs from his psychiatrist
- scored the very lowest in short term visual memory (test)

I don´t want to defend this guy for what he is but to notice who he is.

Of course not everything he says may be correct,

Guys this isn't very asberger like, asberger is a communication disability, introversion and an obcession with collecting *something*. I've had near 20yrs experience of people with asbergers and autism and this dont seem like it.

balooga, please get back in touch with the administrator over there and find out if he is going to get hold of the authorities. he can not just delete him and have this go unquestioned. personally i would not have said a thing if he never mentioned hurting a child, but he did. and i do think he has more deep and serious issues than being a self pity addict. he is truly obsessed and in pain and that makes me take notice.

Call the cops. Or the feds.
They will be able to find him. Print out the original post with his messages and threats, if you've still got it and bring it to the police.
IF this guy has a mental disorder or something he may or may not do anything, but it should still be reported. He doesn't have asperger's, but he might have a personality disorder (like said before: martyr complex at the very least) and needs to be on frikkin meds.

wow never thought psychology would come in use but it makes sense.

There is a direct cause for his behaviour but it could go back many many years. Environment, the way he was raised, how his parents treated him and so on.

This guy has severe antisocial behaviour and is pretty much insane...it's hard to treat :O. You can treat it easier when they are younger but if hes well into his teens that is a bad sign!

We can hope though. Stranger things have happened.

all of his posts were deleted....the fact that he specifically mentions harming a child instead of just a person is serious enough....it shows that he has put some thought into it and might have someone in mind. Here I have compiled the messages he sent me. The same threats were repeated here. I never encouraged any of his behaviour, and that he thinks that I'm right that he should be better off dead, I never said that. He drew that out of the blue:

The worst message first:

No you are right-I am better off dead. I hate life-I was hoping I could find happiness in creating fantasies through images but I am obviously too stupid to do that. I don't want to spend my life working 8 hours at a job I hate everyday just so I have the privilege to come home to my shithole apartment and cry about not being able to draw well.

The bottom line is I can't stand being a failure anymore. I am dead serious. I have been a failure everyday for 10 years at the ONLY thing I care about. So if I can't get help, even from an art school that requires 8 hours per day of drawing than screw it-I quit it-I quit LIFE. And I don't care much about other people, maybe that is why they all hate me! So what-that is just the way I am. So I may get a thrill out of slowly torturing a weak child before I kill myself. If it is not too much trouble, I will do that because I want people to hate me in death-just as they have in life. If I don't start improving my imagination drawing abilities THIS YEAR than I WILL kill myself-and hopefully ruin somebody else's life before I go. A small revenge for a lifetime of suffering.

You're right, I will be better off dead. And I guess that would make everyone else happier too. So congratulations, you will get your wish very soon most likely. But I can't help but be bitter over this, so I may want to kidnap and torture a child before I off myself. But what do you care, right?

I am sorry if this is not a joke. But people have been trying theyr best to help you. Yet you show very very bad drawings. If you look into my thread you will see I was no better than you are now by the age of 20. I feel I have improved immensely over the course of the last two years. But it does NOT happen overnight.

And really. If you had been drawing for ten years then there must be something wrong elsewhere. Maybe some arm twitches, or maybe poor hand eye coordination.

I am 21 years old. I have been dedicated my life to learning how to draw for the last 6 years or so, but for the last 10 years I have not improved my imagination drawing capabilities. This fall I am going to the Joe Kubert School, and if I can't see some improvement within the first few months I am determined to kill myself. That is how serious I am.

But instead of trying to help me, you choose to belittle me. I want this so badly, but nothing I do seems to help. I cannot express to you the misery I have been in for the last few years, and how deeply I want to be able to draw well.

Dude is off the nutcase. He says he tries for 10 years, and he has no friends, family, social interraction, no wonder he's hasn't gain any confidence in his work. He looks like he's serious, because he did mention threatening a child 3 times, and it seems like he thought it through. Feel bad for the guy, I know I take my drawing capabilities for granted sometimes and wish I can see major improvements, and do get upset with myself as well, but no to the level of trying to kill myself. Man, this is terrible to hear. I've been keeping tabs on his sketchbook for a while, and I've been rooting for him. I knew he had problems, and was probably never going to recognise any improvement he was making, but I had no idea how deep they went.

I hope the threat against the child is just something he found would get him attention. I really hope so. Even if it is, we still need to alert the authorities. This guy needs help, and he's practically screaming for it.

You might want to talk to Nightvision, he seemed to be in some sort of contact with him and might be able to help.

I have to say that I'm worried . . . the fact that he's talked more than once about hurting someone shows that he's thought about it--probably for much longer than he's been talking to anyone about it.

It's too risky to say that he probably doesn't mean it or that he won't really do it, because you never know in these cases. Often, suicidal people will mention their intentions to others as a way of testing the waters, you might say. They want to hear how others respond to their threats in order to find out if people "really care about them" or not. If those people just blow that person off, it serves to them as a signal that people really don't care.

But on the other hand, some people do just make off-handed threats in order to get attention.

Sigh.

It's obvious he wants attention, but it's important to recognize the fact that he could be a threat to himself or others- as he's stated. I got a PM from him once that was long and detailed, threatening that he'll kill himself if he doesn't get better at drawing. I know a bunch of other people have had the same sort of communication from him. I hope there is something that can be done as far as legal or professional recourse is concerned, making threats against innocent children takes things a step beyond asking for pity, into the realm of criminal and dangerous activity. I hope there is some way of getting this followed up on, because I for one would feel really terrible if someone got hurt because of this.

im pretty sure theres a law that if someone posts a threat the owner of thet page // server its on has to tell the authorities or they will be just as liable if something does happen. same with games. if someone says something in a multiplayer internet game the admins and owners have to inform someone in case its true

For all those who are pooh-pooh-ing this, and for the admin on the other site who just deleted the threads, I'd just like to take a moment and point out how the young man who killed 9 others and then himself on the Indian reservation a couple of weeks back had quite an extensive Forum board history of telegraphing his actions for about 4-6 MONTHS before he went over the edge. Everything from obvious forum posts to violent, disturbing animated shorts he created and uploaded.
Pity party, cry for attention, whatever, by merely ragging his art, banning him, and then simply yapping about posts threatening to hurt himself or others, you 1) May be contributing to the problem, rather than helping it, and 2) do yourself and others a disservice by presuming to be so "with it," that you can dismiss people with the insensitive and cavalier attitude you display with some of your responses. Truly, there is some cause for concern in this instance, and should something ever arise from it, it will be sad when these types of threads show the apathy of fellow members.

Notify the authorities. Provide any copies of posts you can.

I am not "pooh-pooh-ing", I know from experience that if you are feeling depressed or have suicidal tendencies you do not voice those openly, not that I had suicidal thoughts but I was depressed for a while.
As I said before the most natural response is that you bottle up and withdraw rather than go about saying "I am depressed.I want to kill myself."
I hope I am right, for the consequences of being wrong are quite ill.

Of course notify authorities, but I doubt there is much that can be done, the words that float around the internet are always to be taken with some healthy skepticism.

i got numberous pm's in my box with similar rants as above. i tried to help him...even giving him assignments and squashing the discussion of suicide.

I did an IP search and all his IP addresses were from washington dc I believe. I was not able to get any more info than that. I can post that data if it is needed.

I would definitely call the authorities at this point. I searched the net to try to figure out who to call. that is when his communication stopped. I let it be. as he was still posting drawings and such on the site back then. But, if he is still posting that crap, something must be done.

https://tips.fbi.gov is the link to do so I believe. I couldnt find any more info than that. it is not a local issue as it is over the internet I think. It seems to be more of a federal issue now so that is where the info was sent.

Yeah, nice one Jason. I live in the UK and didn't know who to contact, but now I've bookmarked that link to the FBI for future use. BTW, the owner of Digital Webbing told me that he reported him to his service provider with a copy of the threatening post. I don't think he alerted the authorities though.
