OK... I'm not a good artist by any stretch of the imagination, but what I am particularly terrible at is drawing any type of humanoid figure doing anything other than facing forward and standing up, with like no pose at all. Every tutorial I've looked at I just don't get, and they don't help me. Do you guys have any tips for a newbie like me to help me to one day be as good as you? Thanks for your help.

Draw stick figures. Draw them with the joints that humans have as opposed to the stick figures 5 year olds draw. After you draw the figure then fill it in a little bit, keeping it very basic.
If you see someone sitting or standing a certain way, draw a stick figure of their pose real quick.
It sounds kind of dumb, but it helped me lots.
There's also no real subsititute for studying live models, I don't know if you have access to them though.
Good luck, just keep practicing. :)
