Hello everyone.

My name is Elliot Fernandez. I am a graphic designer and an aspiring comic illustrator living in Tampa, Fla.. These were the pages I would have shown at MegaCon this year but I couldn't make it this time. This is the next set of pages from a script I received from CrossGen as a try out penned by Ron Marz. A dead post I made earlier last year on other boards contained the first 5 pages.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Elliot Fernandez

nice work--i feel like the panels are a little crowded-- what i mean is theres not alot of breathing room AROUND th epanels on the entire page. I like catwoman with th edreads/braids coming out of the back. batman looks funny stepping out of an airplane in the jungle--he sooo crazy!!

post more of these please--ty

hiya, nice pencils. The crits I have on those pages is on the first page Catwoman does not hold her facial likeness from panel 2 to panel 5. Her jaw is much wider etc in panel 5 (basically she has a totally different face). You gotta maintain character likeness from all angles always.Her neck is also too thick in panel 5. Your batman also suffers (to a lesser extent) from not holding his likeness e.g. on the first page panel 2 his chin is much smaller than it is in panel 6.
You sequential storytelling seems okay to me, but try and work on your backgrounds a bit, make them detailed. Try and never do a shot of someone and leave the background just white like you have on some of the panels,especially as you have on page one. Looking at what I written I think page one is much weaker than the rest, which is pretty bulletproof.
I hope this rambling is of some interest/use.
Are you following Jim Lee's run on Batman at the moment? It's good to see his take on the dark knight.
congrats, nice work

this reminds me of the comic batman and tarzan: claws of the catwoman. is that were the story idea came from?

Firechild,

Thanks for taking out the time to comment on my work. It was all useful and I look forward to applying some of the comments I've been hearing to make my future work better.

And, yes, Jim is doing a good job. I wish some of his women weren't so posed, but, what are you going to do, Jim invented that:).

Thanks again,
Elliot Fernandez

As a matter of fact it is. Ron Marz wrote it some years ago and this is what I was given as a practice script.

Good question;
