This is my first post here and this is only my second comic colour I have done.

This image was NOT drawn by me.I repeat This image was NOT drawn by me.I was just practising my colouring.

The image is of Battle Chasers Red Monika Pin-up. Drawn by: Joe Madureira and Inks by: Tim Townsend.

I have never heard of this character and didn't do a search for her until I had finshed it.So I now know that it is wrong so don't swing abuse at me any Monika fans.

I didn't add a background because I couldn't be bothered.
Any and all C&C welcome and wanted

crits:

Don't use this airbrush tool like a maniac...

Use the brushes you need for getting the effects of imitating the material you paint...(look at metal, leather, skin...they are all different in appearance - in opposition to your coloring)

Try to create some texture...(wood structure, paper, hair etc)

You implemented reflection of the gold on the girl's skin, but not on the metallic materials, though they are much more reflecting...

commendation:

You chose the colors very well in my eyes...matches to the style of the drawing...

You know where to put shadows and lights...

You put credits for the original artists...

Waiting for more posts!

Thanks for the reply Fozzybar.I was going to throw some textures in and make the woods and metals etc more realistic but I had a quick look through a couple of my spidey comics and desided to go for the old comic look. You know the look where the colour is pretty flat exept for the highlights and shadows. But I will post my next attempt which I plan to draw, ink and paint myself but more like the new Spawn(hellspawn) comic covers. Thanks again Fozzybar for replying to my first post here.

As a colour enthusiast, especially comic books, I like it. The only thing that really stood out to me was the gold. IMO, it should be a little more yellow and less orange. Other than that, I think it looks great!

I do like the way you have the light of the gold reflecting off of her legs. :)

Thanks Drawnblud.I was thinking the same about the gold but once I had finished the pic I thought I would leave it as a learning stumbling block.Next image that has gold on it I will try and get it more realistic. Thanks again for taking the time to post your thoughts.

I agree with fozzybear but additionally I'd like to see a greater range of value. It looks too evenly-toned.
