Hey... does anyone know where i can get some real basic life painting tutorials? Like I mean which direction to hold your paintbrush basic and thurough

try "Harley Brown's eternal truths for every artist" good basic stuff.
Go to the library, check out EVERY painting book they have. You may get only one small tid bit of information from each one, but it will be worthwhile. Look especially at the stuff that you're probably not interested in; Donna Dewberry's "How to paint flowers and fruit" etc. they frequently show things like how to hold the brush and what direction the brush stroke should go. Do the execises on some scraps of wood. You will be able to apply the techniques to other things later.
In the mean time you may wind up with some nice flower painting to give your Mom and she won't think you're so wierd after all. :)
