View Full Version : My first 3D and some slightly more recent 3D Flash stuff

Hi folks. Thought I'd post some of my stuff.

This one I did almost 3 years ago in my 1st year at Uni. It was my first go at 3DS Max (version 4.2 at the time I think) and I got a pretty decent mark for it :)
Haven't touched it since then really. I'm aware there's plenty of things that could be changed in it (dodgy perspective outside the window, curtains blowing in the wind yet windows are closed, default textures, flat looking flowers... I like the kitty though).

In fact... I don't think I've made anything else of this sort of quality since then :p

But here's some other 3D stuff I'm doing for a Flash game I'm making with someone. Maybe some of you have even heard of it, but I won't bother going into detail right now.

A convenience store of sorts:

Public toilets to go pee-pee or poo-poo:

A (small) casino:

Here's a dancefloor to get all groovy on:

And a bit of the outside world:

Outside environments have 4 lighting states to simulate the passing of time with each day; Dawn, Midday, Evening and then Night. This is the Midday one.
There are others as well, but don't want to give everything away at this moment. Also, these are originally swf files, but I'm always a bit scared of people ripping it off ;)
Anywho, these are made in Discreet's Plasma (which is discontinued now, which sucks) but they get touched up a lot when imported into Flash.

Enjoy ,and comment if you will please :D

I think your edges are too sharp in the 3D piece. You might try to chamfer them slightly. It sounds odd I know, but it creates nice edges that don't look too sharp either.

The other pieces are great! I love that pixel art!

Nah, chamfering the edges doesn't sound like an odd thing to do at all. I would've done it then if I knew how. As it is, the walls are just nicely aligned boxes :p
I might go back and do that one day, but I'm not sure if I have the right textures (the flowers, the kitty, the background).

Glad you like my "pixel art", though I wasn't aware it was pixel art since the original files are Swf and thus can be scaled and transformed without losing image quality. But whatever!

I can post more if you like - perhaps one or two in the original Swf format so you can view em much closer in detail :) I don't really have that many more to be honest :S

-- EDIT --

Oh, thanks for the comment :D
