This is not completely finished but i'm not completely sure of what to do to it. More an excercise in making better hard edges. Maybe somebody could give me some advice on what brushes to use / construct in painter to get better results?
Thanx! E.http://www.xs4all.nl/~erikedf/art/wip/bunker.jpg
Critics very welcome!
(And yes the perspective is off.... :( )

I can see how it's a bunker: kind of a posh one rather than a WWII concrete cave. I think it has a really nice quality of light on those surfaces. The only things I'd point out are maybe the panels could be broken up in a more logical way (above doorways) and the door '7' has a highlight where its' right hand edge meets the wall, which is in shadow. I like it though, would like to see more like this :)
edit/ I also think maybe the composition you have chosen is slightly awkward because your eye tends to hit that centre main wall and stop dead, the door to the right doesn't give enough contrasting distance somehow. I don't know a lot about that sort of thing, though, so I may be very wrong there ;)

not familiar with painter but I have suggestion. on a different layer add some hardlines on some of the edges of the doorways and edges of the ceiling pillars in a few areas to create a little tension. its a great piece it just seems a little soft.

Thanx for the crits!
Saturnfive: i see what you mean with the composition. The problem is i think that not really a lot is happening to take interest to... It would be better to have this 'zoomed out' so that there can be a foreground that is of more interest to the viewer... You're right about the shadow on the door on the right.
Fisa: hmm. You hit it on the spot. I don't really know how to get these edges in Painter. Actually this is already a lot better than it was... The difficulty is that i don't really know how to work with the painter brushes, hope for some tips in that direction...
Thnx! E.
