I just wrapped up the pencils this morning, and finished the colors just now. It's hot of the press. I was commissioned to draw this cover, and it'll be out in June. It'll be in April's Previews' catalogue. You'll get the scoop in there to what the story is about. The book will be published through Speakeasy.
Hope ya'll digs!

I was just at the Norman Rockwell museum the other week, so I'm particularly enjoying the Saturday Evening Post motiff...One of my favs from you, Cheeks, and that's saying a lot.

Hey, I immediately thought of Norman Rockwell when I saw the Saturday Evening Post! Nice work man.

Good stuff but the he shadow seems to get lighter in the center which throws me off a bit. It's also questionable whether using a gradient on the shadow is necessary considering the simplified light effects on the rest of the piece. I realize the dog has a gradient too, but it seems to work better on the dog...not sure why. Of smaller note is that that the more "framed" looking covers of the suturday evening post usually contained a line or two of text at the bottom, although not 100% of the time.
Anywho, nice work. It's strong overall and a few tweeks could make it pop that much more. Congrats on the comission.
