Dan you should make a thread for people just to post the coolest armor theyve ever seen. Maybe weapons and such as well... :bashful: Just a suggestion

I love how it actually has pieces to direct blows into the eyes. Hardcore knights only!

I think it's to keep bird shit out of your eyes while riding around on your horse. . .

Looks like something a japanese stuntman would wear while fighting a 200 foot monster in Tokyo.

Looks like a helmet worn by some alien knight.
And that explains the headset. Or something...

is that based on an actual period helmet? I'm guessing not, but I doubt he lived long as a knight if its for real... maybe a good Don Quixote. He'd at least look approprietely suprised he was getting it in the eye socket... :nohope: Ha, thanks for posting it.

The helmet is an existing piece. Itīs no tourney helmet but belongs to german field-armour - I think itīs basically southgerman. Itīs a development of the armet-helmet yopu mostly know with the sparrow-beak visor. Helmets of this kind have been in use in the late 16th and early 17th century so they arenīt really medieval anymore. Theyīve been mostly in use with light cavalry like cuirassiers and pistoliers and have been often blackened to prevent rust.

I could look up the museum where it is displayed but Iīm to lazy for it :P.

Hope I could impress with useless knowledge ;)

Fipse, I have to correct you on the orgins of this helmet. It was originally created to check out the fair ladies of the day. The wearer would simply gaze in the direction of the damsel and yell out "A-ooooo-gah!"

Ok, I lied. It is, in fact, medieval sleepware.

I have an uncle that could use one of those. Of course the eye thing is still a problem as it's still quite vulnerable to pepper-spray.

Look everyone it's Medieval Spider-man!

Spider-man, Spider-man,
Does whatever a spider can.
Spins a tapestry, any size.
Catches damsels- just like flies.
Look out! Here comes the Bubonic-Plague!

I had a better one, it was a Japanese helmet with an Octopus ball crest on top of it. Now where is it...

Naw dude thats from the orignal theme song to the 60's cartoon Spider-man, which i believe They Might Be Giants used as inspiration for that song?
