Hey all, I want to break into 3d while I still have 4 years to college. I need some good tutorials, because I ahve NO idea where to start, at all. So far I ahve grased how to move the cameras, and set shapes, Bevelle Polygons and Extrude and that, but i ahve no idea how to start actually rendering or whatever you call it. Please help me... Err, us!

Thanks in advance, ~PD.

The best help I can give you at your level is to tell you to spend your money on one of those big thick introductory books on the software package that you are using. With respect, your skills are too basic at this point to really be able to offer you any constructive and specific advice on a BB like this.

If you buy a book (which I wouldn't recommend) go with a really thick one that teaches you the basics. But I think that you should just do tutorials and fiddle with the program yourself.

Decent box modeling tutorial:

3d total, good resource

Polycount, one of the best 3d stires around, check their video tutorials:

Poopinmymounth (yes, it's a weird name) has some video tutorials too (check the beginner and the character modeling ones):
