Haha! Just got my spiffy new Intuos2 in the mail today. God this thing is fun. But I have a few questions.
Now when I bought this thing it said it had something like 1056 levels of pressure, but Im unable to use multiple pressures in PS7. I just keep changing opacity and what not until I get what I want. How do I go about unlocking the pressure sensitivity?
Whats the general artist consensus on which program is better PS or painter?
Also any tips or good training excersises you can recommend are greatly appreciated. Ill be posting some of my traditional media and CG work here soon.
Thanks a lot for your speedy :btu: replies.

hi IPushCarts4Living,
Congrats with your new Wac, you'll love the thing!
On the opacity issue here is what I do.
1.Select brush tool
2.in the options bar on top drag the opacity to 100%
3. open the brush window, and unmark all but OTHER DYNAMICS
4. open it and you'll find OPACITY JITTER, select it to pen pressure and play with it
5. when you get the hang of it you can mark more options like SHAPE DYNAMICS, SCATTERING or what not
Have fun!
OH the world was made in photoshop in case you didn't know

Thanks for your quick reply R_M. Ill be sure to try that.
I take it that because God used photoshop to make the world its better then painter? :D
:wtf: Ha! These smilies are great. Well I just tried doing what you said and it didnt exactly work. When i changed the setting to pen pressure i could still achieve no pen pressure sensitivity. I played with the different % of jitter but it was no different then using my mouse. There was also a orange triangle with a ! within it next to the pen pressure selection. When i point to it it says something along the lines of "You must have a tablet installed to use this option." I dont know if that means that PS isnt recognizing that a tablet is installed or what but id be greatful if you or anyone else could help me out with it.

Mine does that too. Restart your comp, reinstall drivers, and restart again. Check your Tablet setup window thing and make sure stuff is set correctly.
