The Wacom 6D Art Pen works in conjunction with Painter IX and the Intuos 3 graphics tablet. More details and a free brush pack for use with the art pen can be downloaded from here (http://www.corel.com/painterix/lp/wacom_6d_pen/index.html).

There is also a link to an associated Macworld article here (http://www.macworld.com/news/2005/04/04/painter/index.php).

Do you HAVE to have the latest software to gain it's benefits? For instance, I have Painter8, will the new pen be of use to me (should I get a Intuos3 tablet that is)?

According to the page linked in sandman's message (first link), Painter IX must be installed.

One of the Expression options included in Painter IX is Rotation. This Expression option not included in Painter 8 and earlier versions.

According to the Wacom site, it works with the Intuos 3 tablet, though they don't say it won't work with an Intuos 2 tablet. Guess we'd have to confirm that with Wacom to be sure.

It doesn't work with intuos2 from what I read. I'm ordering mine tomorrow!
