Hi there,

two pieces I've finished. Okay the snowman in 2004 as a little bit
"different" christmas and happy new year card, General Cat was inspired by my own cat Jacky...a very cute persian cat, but the illustration shows her, when
fighting for her territory. Snowman in Painter, Gerneral Cat in Project Dogwaffle.
A scanned pencil drawing was the beginning.

Enjoy

I think they could both use a touch more light. The snowman would be really pretty cool if he "glowed" more, like he had moonlight on him. The cat too, if there were just a few stronger lights. I realize that's totally subjective, but for me, they'd be more effective if the contrast was higher. Nice work though - I like the cat especially.

Thanks Danilo and thanks BMunchausen for your comments....yes
my paintings tends to be "flatter" than other ones, while with General Cat
I had some old persian paintings in mind which offer some kind of flatness, while the scenes are perspective....and seems that need a monitor calibration

u know what? I had the impression that I was looking at his full body(cat)! I thought it was a small cat creature...i think the problem is the right(your right) part of his helmet that sticks out looks like a small arm cuz it blends really well with his fur. And, the neck looks like his small chest. But, if i were you i would change the color(make it darker?) of that part of the helmet so it would not blend in with his neck fur so there would be a distinction and thus eradicating the problem.

fantastic texture work! Love the details and structure of the cat.

Like statedabove though, I agree that your lighting would definitly help more. it'll give it more shape and depth.
