... doin this harry potter book cover. its a class assignment, using painter. the phoenix is landing on harry's arm.
im having a hard time with the face on this one. i spent about 40 minutes fixing up the face on the first one, but i'n still not happy with it. any suggestions? i cant quite pick out whats wrong with it.

I believe its mr Potters glasses thats too close to his face, try moving them out a bit to get more depth.

btw, the flames from the birds eyes looks sweet. =)

ahhh. good point. thats the type of thing i never would have seen. i like the bird too..... i just had to sneek it in :)

Hey looks quite good but i have 2 crits:

His hand looks too elongated, something about it seems stretched between his thumb and index finger.

Harry's jaw seems to stick out a bit too far. sorta makes him look like an old man gnawing on his dentures. ...hmm wait the zoomed in picture seems different. face is chubbier there looks more like a kid. I havent read the books maybe this is from a later chapter in the story where harry is older?

anyways looking forward to seeing it finished! :D

actually, the top one is the newest.. its a fix over the bottom one. i'll keep posting as go on with this. i usually draw and ink stuff before coloring... so doing something completely digital is a bit of a change. going a little slower.
