Sketch and Effect

This is one of the chracters for the book i'm doin. Playin with the effect when he charges----the sketch is the look I'm goin for for this book.

decent character design... bad colours. in general actrual linework should not have any glow effects on it....imo anywho. it draws attention to the fact that it is linework and kinda kills the illusion of reality.

Nice drawing. The style reminds me little of Aeon Flux or Reign. I don't like the colored one much though. If he's supposed to charge up with energy, I would put more into it. Actually color him, and then add those FX to him, keeping them a little more subdued. It's a nice start though.

I'm having trouble seeing the colored version, that image isn't loading for me. I like the sketch one a lot.

I think we can all agree that the original drawing is lovely, high-quality even, however I would use that glowing crap sparingly. Not that I don't like the glowing, it's just not very convencing. You make me want to go draw!

I like the 2nd pic too! It makes me think of those hoky "space beings" that I'm beginning to think I made up in my own head instead of seeing in cartoons when I was younger....

I kind of like the second one, even though it was a simple effect... it works on the character...

I've seen some really bad enery made characters in the past... If anybody has a good suggestion on energy made characters I would really like to hear some.
