just finished this one today. manipulated in photoshop, printed, then painted according to the altered image. this is kind of fun in the respect that you get to paint effects that you normally would never do otherwise.hope you all like.-c36

Excellent! Love the effect! :)

Actually I had been thinking about this process too and used it a couple of times also. Mostly doing my concepts digitally and then use them as reference for the actual oilpainting.

Is the the girl wearing a blouse with a spider printed on?
I find that pattern a bit distracting on an otherwise great painting.

Hey el coro - could you expound on your process of work here?
Did you do a print on canvas paper and paint over it or work directly onto the blank canvas using a small print out as a guide?
I remember thermal printing being big where you would print out your piece on canvas and continue working up your painting on it...pretty slick stuff.

btw - i like what you've done.
very ying, yang with a sence of central grounding at the eye.

peace.

redehlert: i painted this from a print out. this is just an oil on canvas. i just used the print as reference...
R_M: you know, i thought long and hard about painting the bug on her shirt. i think in the end there were just too many fun passages to paint, and i think it gives the impression of her torso being there as well as playing even more on the whole transparency effect. but i feel ya.
thanks all who replied! i think ima do a few of these, maybe with some different subject matter.-c36
