I spent all of last weekend on this. Man it is so nice to start something up and work something like 20+ hours on it and not be able to put it down, and actually like the end result. if every day was like last weekend.

This is probably not finnished, but it is in my eyes. any more work and i'll end up messing it up.

This is very very awesome I like even if it's not done. I don't know about composition but is it a good idea to have too much light in the middle, my eyes went directly to the center, but then again that's where your focus points for the fighters are. One thing I would recommend is maybe add a few guys closer to the main fighters, cause it looks like they have way too much room to fight in if your going for that massive battle look. I've always love your stuff keep at it m8.

Lokks great, I relly get the feeling that there's action in this pic. And I let's my fantasy trail away and paint up the rest of the battle, I love it. :D

Hugs!

Black and white works well, like the way the application of lighter colours adds to action. really gives a feeling of motion and depth. Also the foreground fig. doesn't detract from the fight scene.

Thankee for the kind replies.

Sok - I didnt want to put anything in the middle or close to the main figures because i didnt want to detract from them. That and because its the easy way out. I always thought i had composition down but looking at Ron Lemen's composition tutorials I realized I'm still an amature at it. I didnt really plan this illustration out before i started it. it just sorta happend. that would explain all the composition mistakes.

Kino - I'm working on several illustrations around this theme but none have the same action as this one. and none are finished.

Pencilator - I do my best to keep tha action of my sketches in my finished illustrations. Usualy i fail misrebly. Thanks for letting me know i'm not a failure.

Migman - I initialy planned to do this in color but the B+W kinda happend and i didnt want to mess with a good thing. With the foreground figure I put that in after the illustration started developing into something. Put it in to fill up the empy space. Everyone i showed this to wanted me to blur it but i didnt like how it looked so i chanfe the opacity and made it a little lighter. It still botherimg me a little but not as much as before.

i got a bunch of progress sketches ot this that i'll post a little later.

and i'm happy enough with this that i'll soon be sending it off to Irene Gallo at Tor. always felt intimidated to send her stuff. up until now.
